Washing machine malfunctioned and flooded the house. We frantically tried to dry the house so there was no damage. Tried to contact host, Andy, and took over night to get ahold of him. Then he was very ambivalent like it was big deal. Place is nice, but everything inside is cheap…damaged cabinets throughout. For a new house it is very worn. Only did a load of laundry because we had some stains on a couple of things, otherwise we wouldn’t have even chosen to because there was no detergent, but thought we needed to try and eliminate the stains even without detergent. No facial tissue anywhere in the house, really missing the “little touches” that make VRBO’s wonderful. Built a beautiful house, but then furnished it as cheaply as possible. Beautiful area, but it is away from town and all the restaurants, etc. Hot Tub smelled like dead fish. Asked for a bit of compensation for the washing machine disaster and host m, Andy, has been radio silent. Very disappointed that host is unresponsive. There is another host in the area named Cody and when we return we will definitely be staying with him. Originally booked his place, but my family decided to stay away from town and now we wish we would have stuck with our original plan. Cody was wonderful, even after canceling our reservation with him, he still provided so much information…activities, tours, restaurants, etc. Again, sorry that we didn’t stick with our original plan.
