One hour before check out, a hotel employee tried to come in to the room without knocking.

Toro, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I'm sorry to read that you experienced noises through the night. We have a very strict policy regarding noise in the evening because we believe that everyone deserves to get the best night sleep possible. Nice inn, but it appears as if they're not quite ready to be open. TV had to be plugged into an extension cord in order to work, then unplugged to turn off. No soap dispenser at bathroom sink - had to get soap from dispenser in shower every time you wanted to wash your hands. They provided kerig coffee pods, but no machine to put them in. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but they need to finish the rooms.

Avoid the Inn at Temescal at all costs. Don't be fooled by the pictures, it is not a safe place. It is located in an extremely troubled area. The first night we stayed we were kept up by voices outside our door almost all night. The next night thumping base music began, and by 11pm the voices began outside our door. By midnight our door had been knocked on by multiple men, they had mistaken our room for the one next door. A new person arrived every 15minutes. There were knocks on our door multiple times throughout the night. There was a constant stream of people until about 5am, constant talking, music. We have no idea what they were doing, but thought perhaps drug deals. No evidence, just a theory. At one point someone called the police. We heard the argument outside and someone from the room said "Tell us who complained?" The police left without entering the room or stopping whatever was going on. We had a hunch the hotel management knew what was going on and so felt it was just safer to stay locked in our room rather then complain to management. These guys were clearly not concerned with the police and the police seemed unwilling or unable to shut it down. It all seemed to end around 5am. We got a couple hours sleep and got the hell out of there. Found cig butts all over our front door step. We won't be back. Also: No towels. When we asked they said the had only two. No TV remote, no Coffee service, Sink backed up . . . but those seem small things in comparison.

Nice hotel & staff

I was looking for a safe place in Oakland. This is a mixed use neighborhood. It's updated, clean and secure. I arrived early and although my room wasn't ready Nick was kind enough to check me in and give me an ETA on when the room would be ready. He then suggested some nearby spots to grab lunch. I got back an hour later and my room was all set. There was a steady stream of folks checking in including families and young professionals. This place is just off the freeway but not far from Berkeley campus. I'll definitely be back
