Blyth Green Stable - rural Norfolk yet only 10 miles from Norwich

Blyth Green Stable is a brand new holiday cottage in the site of the old stable. With high vaulted ceiling, a well equipped kitchen, dining area, a log burner for winter nights and two big bedrooms, the space is deceptively big and is ideal for families or groups of friends looking to spend time in South Norfolk. There is a private patio area, parking for 2 cars and the ability to use the garden on request.
The hot water is solar powered and the building is very well insulated so in summer the house is eco- friendly.
There is full wi-fi and the building is protected by intruder, carbon monoxide, heat and smoke alarms.
The cottage sits on an ancient drovers' road, now a footpath, and access to walks though open fields or cycling routes along country lanes is right on our doorstep. The large village of Long Stratton is half a mile down the hill where there is a selection of restaurants, other food outlets, a pub, a Co-op supermarket, an award winning vegan cafe and many other amenities. Norwich and Diss are both 10 miles away along the A140.

Bedroom one has a chest of drawers, space for hanging clothes, two bed side tables and lights and a full length mirror. The bed configures either as two standard singles or a super king double.

Bedroom two is a little smaller with hanging space and two bedside tables and lights. The bedside tables have small drawers for personal items and there is one big drawer available under the bed. The bed configures either as two small singles or a king sized double.

Fantastic Accommodation.
Blythe Green Barn exceeded my expectations. The decor is tasteful, well maintained and is very well equipped. I am a wheelchair user and although it is not specifically wheelchair adapted it worked really well for my needs. Huw was friendly and extremely helpful making the booking procedure and stay an all round excellent experience. I would certainly look to come back and highly recommended it!

Lovely home from home.
Blyth Green Stable was a lovely change from the 4 walls we've been living in for the last 18 months. Everything was perfect however I do have a few ideas that might make it a little bit more family-friendly. Cupboard and drawer locks in kitchen would be amazing, everyone knows how to use them so I doubt they'd be an inconvenience if you weren't staying with children. Some information regarding the local area wouldn't go amiss either, it's fine as we're capable internet users but if you weren't then finding recommend things to do would be difficult. Takeaway menus and taxi numbers etc would be great too. One more thing that would be amazing is a hot tub on the patio area. It's an investment but I do think it's the perfect place for one as there's not much else to do in the immediate area. Other than those pointers the house was gorgeous, very well maintained and the owner was fabulous - we even got fresh eggs! Thank you for being our home away from home during a very desperate time. Amy and family :) .

Fabulous cottage
Loved this place from the moment we arrived. Booked to spend Christmas with my elderly Mum and it was brilliant. Everything I needed to cook a Christmas dinner. Well equipped and so comfortable. Logs supplied for the wood-burner which was so cosy . Central heating as well. Good supplies like coffee, tea, sugar,. Plus lots of other essentials all in place on arrival. Owner Huw so easy to communicate with and accommodated all our requests willingly. This is a really lovely place to stay and very central for lots of the Norfolk attractions. Long Stratton is a nice little town with everything you need within about a 15 minute walk. But, the cottage is in the countryside and is so lovely and quiet. I would thoroughly recommended this place to stay.

Home sweet holiday home
We recently stayed at the Stable with our 15 month old daughter and it was the perfect for our long weekend in Norfolk. The house was not only clean, well equipped but a home away from home for a family holiday. We had the use of a high chair and cot which was great when travelling with a baby, one less thing to pack! We didn't get to use the private garden with BBQ but it was lovely to have the use of outside space if we needed it. Huw was a great host and provided us with all the information we needed prior to our arrival and was more than accommodating if we needed help with anything during our stay. We'll definitely be returning as we loved our stay at the Stable and still have lots of places on our list to visit!

We had a great stay at the stable. The property has everything you need, especially useful to have a washing machine and somewhere to dry clothes etc. Kitchen was really well equipped too! Location was very convenient for us and Huw was a welcoming host. Thanks and hope to see you again soon!

Fab home away from home
Fabulous home, well kitted out and a great layout. It was perfect for the three of us. It had oven, induction hob, fridge, washing machine and microwave. We made use of the washing machine at the end of our stay, to make life easier when we went home (as we had a case full of clean clothes). Huw and family were very helpful and friendly, as was Dodger, who my son loved playing with. We had a really good two week stay as it was an ideal location for getting to all the places we wanted to visit.

Our 5 day stay at Blyth Green Stable
Our 5 night stay in this cottage has been very enjoyable. Our host was very welcoming and informative. The property ticked all the boxes for our needs and was clean and comfortable. Blyth Green Stable is set in a very pleasant and peaceful part of Long Stratton. We managed to fit in a visit to Holkham Hall and its gardens before our arrival which was quite busy due to a triathlon event but still there was more than enough space for all. For family reasons we also visited several villages/towns in Suffolk including Framlingham, Debenham, Kettleburgh, Earl Soham, Saxtead and Horham. This is a very beautifuk part of the country. Bungay was quite nice and we enjoyed an afternoon tea in the Old Bank Tearooms in the Market Place. On the way to Southwold we called in at Halesworth and had tea in one of the high street cafes. Southwold itself was a very clean, picturesque seaside town with a lovely beach. On our last evening we called at The White Horse at South Lopham. It had only been re-opened for 5 weeks and the food we had was very good. We were lucky to get a table! East Anglia is a very picturesque corner of Britain and is part of our family heritage. Blyth Green Stable is ideally placed being within reach of all the regions attractions. We are so pleased we have found this accommodation and will definitely be arranging another visit. Thank you Huw & Sarah. Jennifer, Derek & Simon Pears
