Very cute rustic Mazet, suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. Good location, easier if you have a car. Facilities very basic but the lovely house owners will offer anything you may need. Hosts are fantastic and worth the stay itself! Pool very clean and great temperature. Hosts left us to it. Own parking space outside Mazet.

First, the hosts are just lovely. Kind and accepting of our poor French language skills :-) Just the nicest people. The location is amazing. Just 10 minutes from historic St. Paul De-Vence (which shouldn’t be missed!). The pool is well maintained and is the perfect temperature. 5 min to the grocery store, 20 min to the beach. While basic, everything you need for a relaxing downtime including A/C is there.

First vacation France

We had a very good experience here. It was our first vacation outside Belgium with our 2 kids (3,5y and 6,5y). The welcome was very good, the house was little (but we knew that) but clean. We had everything we needed. The pool is in the garden of the owners, but they respect your privacy. It didn’t bother us en they let us be. If we should needed something, we always had the possibility to ask. Our first vacation was a succes. Thank you!

Bearutiful property in St. Paul de Vence

We have just returned after 5 days at this property just outside St. Paul de Vence. The owners, Guy and Mado, who live adjacent to the property could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. As soon as we arrived they took us for a tour around the area showing us the best restaurants, bakeries etc and Guy was very generous with the Ricard if we happened to be there at midday! Guy doesn't speak English, Mado's English is limited and our French was rusty but we managed very well. The house itself is small but beautifully maintained. It was perfect for the two of us. I'd highly recommend this property and St. Paul de Vence which is just stunning with great views and lovely restaurants. Anne-Marie & David, Ireland

A refuge to return to, year after year...

A year ago I decided to take my boyfriend who had never been to France, hoping he would love it as much as I do. When we arrived to Mado & Guy's place, I knew I had found just the place for him to fall in love. The mazet is small but yet spacious, clean and tidy and offers excellent sleep! The house is set in a tranquil garden, with easy access to parking (a rental car is advised, Nice airport is a mere 10 mins away and there are lovely places to see in the region). The hosts Mado & Guy are lovely people, generous, warm and with a great sense of humour. They know the area like the inside of their pocket and will give you insider tips & tricks of what to see, where to go, what to eat etc. They will make you feel like home - only more luxurious! We are definately going back this year, now as husband and wife... Merci Mado & Guy, à très bientôt!

Perfect family retreat!

Thank you so much to Mado and Guy for our memorable stay in St-Paul-de-Vence. Property is as advertised, spotless and was ideal for our young family. The pool was lovely after a hot (and sweaty!!) day exploring the Côte d’Azur, the pool area itself is clean, spacious and private. Mado often popped out to say hello but otherwise left us to your own devices. Location is ideal and you can drive to most places within 40minutes and it’s around an hour from Monaco. Mado and Guy are genuinely lovely people and made us feel really welcome and we felt very comfortable making the place our own for the week. They had family staying with them for a few days during our stay and invited us to have an aperitif and a chat with them which was a lovely gesture. (Hi to Cammy, Alex and their daughter! 👋) Again, we were made to feel very welcome, and they gave us restaurant recommendations and helpful general local info. The outdoor area has a bbq which we used a few times during our stay and is a nice little sun trap to catch the last of the days sunshine. We had a very late flight back to the UK on our last day and Guy and Mado kindly let us use the pool for most of the day which we really appreciated and helped us keep the kids happy in the heat until it was time to get going. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely tell people about this little spot and hopefully return one day!! Thank you!! Regards Claire, Andrew, Theo and Emmy!

My family and I were really looking forward to arriving in Nice for some relaxation by a swimming pool and outdoor space and hoped that we could walk or bicycle into town. Unfortunately,the property was not in Nice, but in a small town near Nice. Further than we thought. We were expecting a private house and pool and house equipped with washing machine. The house was next-door to the owners house and the pool was in the owners yard so it was not part of the house we rented. There was no washer and dryer, it was in the owners house. Mezet means small house, but this house was extremely small! The kitchen was about 4’ x 4’, with no oven. The owner was kind enough to do our laundry in her washing machine. The house was not very clean and it didn’t look like it was kept up very well. There was a used washcloth in the kitchen and an old bar of soap in the bathroom. There were spiders and a very musty smell inside the living area. The AC did clear out some of the smell and worked well. There was a small outdoor area for us to reside in. we were allowed to use the pool, but it was dirty and cold. This location would’ve been good for a quick overnight stay but we had it for five nights and it was not what we were looking for in a vacation home. We thought we’d have a lot more outdoor space and privacy. The owner was extremely kind, but the property description was misleading, and we were disappointed.

This felt like coming home

It was pure luck that we found this beautiful place to stay one week before our trip to the wonderful south of france. Guy and Mado answered right away and the house was booked the next day. We couldn´t have made a better choice! Guy and Mado are truly the best hosts we could have imagined. Incredibly friendly, funny, helpful and so warm-hearted. Always there to give great recommendations where to go and what to see. Guy showed us around to have a first glimpse of the amazing area we were in. The house was perfect for our stay, clean, modern, well-furnished and equiped with everything we needed incl. Wifi. A bottle of Rosé was already waiting for us and a second bed in the living room offered some space for us two friends travelling together. We enjoyed the pool and the amazing terrace all alone whenever we wanted and also our mornings and evenings in the beautiful nature that Guy and Mado built around our Mazet with it´s lovely terrace, which was simply great to calm down and relax, to start or end the days. We had rented a car, that we could park in front of the main house and therefore had the chance to visit Cannes, Nice and St. Paul de Vence on top of the hill, which was one of the most impressive historic villages we had seen so far. Sitting there in the Café de la Place and watching the men play Petanque, walking around and enjoying the art and joy of life that you find in every corner of this village or visiting the fondation Maeght, everything is worth a visit if not a MUST SEE. And the house is perfectly located to visit many more places than we did. We highly recommend the stay and are sure you will enjoy your holidays as much as we did. Mado and Guy, this really felt like coming home and we thank you a million times for your advice, help, the wonderful cake and Lemoncello, the german football match and our funny chats. You are two of the loveliest people we have ever met and we hope to see you again soon. A bientot, S & J (the german worldchampions)

Kleines Häuschen mit Poolzugang in Toplage

Wir genossen den Aufenthalt bei den freundlichen und diskreten Gastgebern sehr. Den großen und sauberen Pool hatten wir für uns alleine. Auch wenn dieser am Haus der Gastgeber liegt, fühlten wir uns dennoch völlig ungestört. Das Haus ist recht klein und erfordert etwas Organisationstalent, vor allem was die Küche und den Kleiderschrank betrifft. Die Betten sind bequem, die Klimaanlage einwandfrei und im Sommer unverzichtbar.Die Einrichtung ist etwas betagt aber sauber. Der Holzboden im Außenbereich ist schon etwas älter.Ein großer Pluspunkt neben Pool und Klimaanlage ist die wunderschöne Lage, von der aus man viele Ausflüge machen kann. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Boulangeries befinden sich in wenigen Autominuten entfernt.Wir bedanken uns recht herzlich bei Mado und Guy.

Wir hatten zu dritt als Familie einen entspannten Aufenthalt. Wir waren viel am Pool (der Pool hat eine tolle Größe und die Terrasse ist ebenfalls sehr groß und komfortabel), haben Ausflüge gemacht und hatten eine schöne Zeit zusammen. Die Unterkunft ist einfach, funktional und klimatisiert.

Très mauvaise expérience

Logement inadapté pour un séjour d’une semaine pour une famille de 4 personnes. Impossible de déjeuner à l’intérieur du logement. Nous avions l’impression d’être dans une caravane. Aucun rangement pour les aliments et aucun rangement pour les vêtements. Réfrigérateur minuscule….40cm*40cm (génial pour une famille) C’est honteux de louer ce genre de logement. Tout est vétuste à l’intérieur. Les extérieurs ne sont absolument pas entretenus, c’est ja jungle. Pour ceux qui souhaitent avoir un minimum d’espace, de confort et d’intimité un bon conseil passez votre chemin. Le prix de la location est excessif par rapport à l’état du logement qui est très vieillot. Plus jamais pour nous qui avons dû écourter le séjour compte tenu de la qualité de la prestation. A fuir….

Eine kleine Oase

Wir haben en Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Unterkunft entspricht der Beschreibung, ist sauber und klimatisiert. Bei einem zweiwöchigen Aufenthalt gibt es nach einer Woche frische Handtücher. Großartig war der Poolbereich, den man immer für sich alleine hatte. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und freundlich und immer für einen Tipp offen.

We werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door mevrouw. De accomodatie is op een toplocatie gelegen! Alleen zijn er enkele minpunten die we hebben ervaren. Het huis is kleiner dan dat het lijkt, dit is meer een studio. Dekentje viel achter het stapelbed, bij het oppakken merkte ik echter heel veel stof. Dit stapelbed kraakt ook langs alle kanten. Zwembad is een gezamenlijk zwembad samen met de verhuurders. Dit mag wel gezegd worden bij de omschrijving. Het is dus niet Privé zoals er wordt gezegd.

Mooie plek!

Wij hebben in de meivakantie ruim een week in dit huisje mogen verblijven. De locatie is perfect. Nice, Antibes, Cannes alles is zeer goed te bereiken. Ook in de directe omgeving zijn leuke dorpjes met als toeristisch hoogtepunt het pittoreske kunstenaarsdorp St.Paul-de-Vence. De eigenaren zijn zeker aardig en belangstellend. Het huisje zelf is idd klein maar dat wisten we vantevoren van de andere reviews. Het zwembad is voldoende groot en hoewel nog wat koud hebben onze kinderen zich er prima vermaakt. Toch ook echter wat minpunten. Ten eerste mbt het huisje. Klein is niet erg maar we ervaarden het geheel als wat groezelig en niet echt schoon. Ook de uitrusting in de keuken kan beter. De meest lovende reviews lijken ook van wat langer geleden. Een goeie opknapbeurt zou wonderen doen. Ten tweede is het goed om te weten dat we toch wel het gevoel hadden dat je bij de eigenaren op bezoek was. Bij het zwembad was de deur naar de woonkamer regelmatig open waardoor je toch het gevoel hebt dat de eigenaren elk moment bij het zwembad kunnen opdoemen. In de ochtend genietend van de eerste zonnestralen zit wsl ook niet iedereen te wachten op een moment van contact met de eigenaren wat wel gebeurde. Hoe vriendelijk ook. Als je daar geen moeite mee hebt dan is het helemaal prima. Als je meer op privacy bent gesteld goed om te weten. Al met al echter een leuk verblijf en value for money in die regio maar met bovengenoemde punten in het achterhoofd

Mado et Guy sont très accueillants et sympathiques. Les environs sont magnifiques, parfaits pour un séjour entre mer et montagnes.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour chez Mado et Guy qui sont très accueillants. Leur propriété est très belle, au calme et propre. Ils nous ont été de très bons conseils pour les lieux à visiter et les plages. Hôtes adorables que je suis très heureuse d'avoir connu. Nous reviendrons 🙂

Charmante Unterkunft mit tollem Pool und super Lage!

Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und die Unterkunft ist wie beschrieben sehr gemütlich und mit allem was man so benötigt ausgestattet. Highlight war der Pool an dem man sehr gut Schwimmen, Spielen und Verweilen konnten! Mado und Guy sind hervorragende Gastgeber mit vielen Tipps für die Gegend! Allgemein ist die Lage super, sehr ruhig aber trotzdem ein schöner Ausgangspunkt zur Erkundung der Umgebung. Wir würden es wieder buchen!

Lage Top / Unterhalt Flop

Nach einem sehr netten Empfang von Mado und Guy haben wir uns in der Wohnung umgesehen und diverse Mängel entdeckt. Über nicht gereinigtes Inventar, liegen gelassene Utensilien von Vormietern bis hin zu einer Ameisenewanderung im Schlafzimmer hinterliess die Wohnung einen schmuddeligen Eindruck. Die Umgebung ist auch nicht gepflegt. Es ist viel überwachsen und zum Teil schauen Schraubenköpfe aus dem Holzboden heraus. Der Pool ist gross und sauber, aber er gehört zur Terrasse von den Vermietern. Somit plantscht man im Pool vom Vermieter und nicht im eigenen. Die Lage ist super. Man ist schnell in Saint Paul de Vence oder am Strand von Cagnes. Das Inventar entspricht den Fotos, aber dieses ist leider auch veraltet, abgenutzt und sollte teilweise ersetzt werden. Zusammengefasst: mit mehr Pflege im und ums Haus wäre diese Unterkunft sehr zu empfehlen.
