Worst Hotel Experience in New York

Pros: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Cons: Everything. New check in system. New beds, new bathrooms. Shower clogged with gunk and water pooled at your feet. Bed was like deflating air mattr
Location: Directly across from Penn Station and Mad Sq. Garden. That I guess is why it really feels like a crowded overheated OLD ratty train station.
This was by far worst experience I have had in hotel in NYC. Check in process took 2 hours! We got there at 2:30 to check in and line for check in went out door to the street (it was 25 degrees out). The hotel has "express check in" keyosks that are supposed to allow you to check in without the long wait. There was a line for those also. I got on the express line and my boyfriend got on regular line. I waited half an hour on express line, and when I got up to keyosk, entered my info I was told it was unable to "assign" me a room. I was then told by staff to wait on yet another, different line. I explained to the employee when I finally got up to him that I had play tickets for 5:30. It was 3:30. He did not care and basically said there was nothing he could to do but assign me a room, he could not officially check me in, I should go back online for keyosk and check in there. I did. When I got to they keyosk entered my info again it then gave me a message that the key could not be issued. I then got on the long line for the regular check in with my boyfriend. We were checked in finally at 4:30. 2 hours wasted checking in. The situation continued all day and all night - there was a line in the lobby the entire time we were there with many very unhappy miserable guests. The room we stayed in was terrible. Dirty, old and an air mattress for a bed. There are so many better places in NY to stay for $200 a night. Do not waste your money here. .

very dirty hotel

The only good thing about it is the location of the hotel and the friendly staff, but the hotel conditions and cleanliness are terrible.

Hotel needs a deep cleaning.

I understand that this hotel is old but that doesn't mean that it has to be dusty and moldy. The staff only vacuums areas that people walk the most through Also, the place is falling apart and it smells like cigarette on the whole 7th floor(although I requested a No smoking room). Don't stay on the 7th Floor!!!! We asked for extra pillows and it took them 24hrs and 5 calls to the main desk. Reality is that they have No hotel service here. They reply to people's horrible comments on the ratings but that doesn't mean anything. Last, my husband and I just crossed our fingers and hoped we wouldn't catch anything in our hotel room.
