Beautiful old hotel at the edge of old town. Front desk staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. Bed was very comfortable. Slept like a log. 2 minor issues only. In room coffee maker did not work well but there was complimentary coffee in the hall so it worked out well. Room on the first floor looked out over a parking lot. I would stay again but ask for an upper floor room next time.

Spacious hotel a block from Basillique Notre Dame

Pros: Decor, beds, room size, charm.
Cons: Carpet
Location: Notre Dame church, Place D'Armes.
I took a gamble booking at L Hotel and was quite pleased. Pulled up curbside, checked in, and valet took care of my car. Bilingual staff at the front desk made it easy for my horrible French. Lobby/bar was chic and adorned with nice paintings. Room was huge, beds were clean and comfortable. Eclectic furniture pieces in the room were great. Only complaint was the older carpet that had a few faint stains. Room had no iron/ironing board but the front desk brought it right away. Great location.

L Hotel is great!

Cons: A second option for a la carte breakfast in addition to the prix-fixe.
Great service and price. Staff personally SEES TO IT that you are treated as a welcomed guest who would be glad to return and promote their hospitality to others.

Loved the High Ceilings

Pros: Artwork and high ceilings.
Location: Great location for exploring Old Montreal
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was ideal in Old Montreal. The room was a comfortable oasis and retreat from our busy days spent sightseeing. We appreciated the spaciousness of the room enhanced by the tall ceilings, traditional decor and artwork throughout the hotel. The plush terry robes were a special treat. This is a unique and special property!

A Gem!

Pros: It was quaint.
Cons: Needs a bit of updating.
Location: See above
Very nice, old hotel. Centrally located in Old Montreal. Very near Notre Dame, many restaurants. Breakfast was pricey but there are many alternatives around.

Boutique Hotel in Old Montreal with Amazing Art

This extraordinary hotel in Old Montreal houses an impressive art collection that is not to be missed. LHotel's Victorian building once a bank in the old financial district was our home base for a our 5 night stay in Montreal. The location is just minutes walk from Notre-Dame Basilica, Saint Catherine St, museums, and the Metro. Our 4th floor room was spacious with 15 foot ceilings and uniquely decorated with prints by Damien Hirst and Ed Ruscha. Black out curtains and a comfortable bed made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was also good sized with a deep soaking tub. The staff was very helpful, courteous, and professional in making suggestions and bookings throughout our stay. Good music in the cozy bar/lounge area. Our room had a good strong WiFi signal and there is a business/computer area near the bar. An adequate fitness gym is on the lower level. Coffee/tea are in each room and a nice buffet breakfast each morning in the dining room. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance for dinner options. Do take time to stroll each floor’s hallways exhibiting artwork's by Sam Francis, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Indiana, and many more. Stairwells hold a vintage movie poster collection. The art collection and hotel belongs to Georges Marciano a founder and creative force of Guess Jeans. We would definitely stay here again.
