Rocky Branch Overlook taken from Jailhouse Rock, Red River Gorge, Kentucky USA
After climbing down slippery stair steps and through the bolder strewn gorge below, there's little doubt left about the naming of Broke Leg Falls.
Closed to the public for years, Menifee County reopened the Broke Leg Falls. Nearby Frenchburg on U.S. Route 460, Broke Leg Falls Park Bridge the 60 foot waterfall is nearly out of driving range from the major attractions of Natural Bridge State Park and Red River Gorge. Although the area draws little attention, it's well worth the extra drive. Some say this Kentucky waterfall setting earns the adjectives of stunning, and remarkable.
Stairs lead down from the parking area into the gorge and behind the waterfall. A small footbridge crosses over the creek below and leads to various viewpoints along the creekside. It's best to keep an eye on where you are stepping, rather than fixing your gaze on the fall. It would be a bad day if you were to join the members of the Broke Leg Falls gang.

Normally there is a beautiful waterfall where you see the black streaks, but we're in a a drought, so just use your imagination.
