We expressed our concerns to the host because the condition of the property did not accurately reflect the listing. The outdoor areas appeared poorly maintained — the patio furniture was dirty, debris was scattered throughout the property, and the canoes had not been cleaned or wiped down. Additionally, the baby swing and hammock were covered in black mold.We were also unable to check in early due to the property supposedly being inspected and cleaned; however, the overall condition did not appear consistent with a recently deep-cleaned home. There was debris on the floors, and the baseboards and windowsills were visibly dirty with bugs and dust buildup.There were also several maintenance issues, including a broken bathtub faucet and towel hangers pulling out of the wall.While we did enjoy the waterfront location and appreciated the amount of space the property provided, we ultimately do not feel that the experience matched the price paid. If a property is being offered as a vacation home, it should be properly maintained, updated, and thoroughly cleaned for guests.
