Hostal Besaya is great! I was very lucky to find this place. It is about as close to the metro as possible and convenient walking distance to downtown Madrid. Incredible convenience getting around. It is in a great area and feels very safe. The view is stunning.

Located right in the heart of Madrid on the main upscale shopping street. Very vibrant, lively and robust. Lots of cafes, bakeries, clubs, theaters, eatery choices for every occasion and price levels. Museums, live shows, boutique stores, department stores. On the weekends, it is so much crowded that sometimes one flows with the wave. City of Madrid for the tourist has a bus service FREE that stops to the major shopping areas, museums and the central train station in the city. The food (Tappas) is served freshly prepared at most of the restaurants, particularly the famous grilled Sardines and traditional irresistible pastries!

Old and creepy hotel with nice staff

The hotel is only one floor of the shown building in the picture. Entrance doesn’t look like a hotel. You enter an old building and take an old elevator to the 8th floor. Rooms are small. No wardrobe, fridge, microwave, or even a safe box in the room. In general old and small rooms only to take a shower and sleep. My view to outside was other windows and hotel towels being hung to dry. On the positive side, hotel staff are very nice and friendly. Both at the desk and house keepers. Also location is nice middle of everything.

Atenção ao chegar: a recepção do hotel fica no 8° andar, não há portaria no térreo 24h, então logo que chegar, deve-se dirigir ao elevador e ir ao andar da recepção. A equipe de funcionários era ótima, muito educados. O quarto era pequeno mas era bom, a cama era confortável e as rouparias eram de boa qualidade. O banheiro, porém, era pequeno demais, pouquíssimo espaço para acomodar as coisas pessoais. O secador de cabelo deveria estar disposto no quarto, porém precisa ser solicitado na recepção, mas quando o fiz, foi disponibilizado sem problemas. Infelizmente estão reformando o prédio e nossa janela estava obstruída por um andaime enorme, senão fosse isso, teríamos uma vista linda. O ponto alto da acomodação é a localização, simplesmente perfeita! Tudo muito perto, estação de metrô muito perto. Voltaria a ficar na acomodação, sem dúvida.
