The L Hotel
"I stayed for two nights to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, and overall, it was a calm and pleasant stay. One of the biggest things I appreciated was the location in Industry City. The hotel was affordable compared with other options in the city, and there were a couple of delis about four blocks away, which made grabbing something to eat an easy walk. The staff was calm and our room had a decent view considering we were in Brooklyn. You could see Industry City, the surrounding buildings, and even the Prospect Expressway in the distance. The hotel does have some limited amenities. For example, they only have a limited number of irons and steamers available. I also didn’t wake up early enough to try the breakfast, but I appreciated that it was complimentary. The television was definitely more old-school, around 32 inches and mounted on the wall. The channel selection was very limited—pretty much below-basic cable. There wasn’t even Disney Channel or ESPN available, which was a little surprising. That said, I really can’t complain too much. We mainly needed a comfortable place to sleep, shower, change, and get ready before heading out for our plans, and the hotel served that purpose well. It’s not going to give you the same experience or views as staying in Manhattan or in the heart of the city, but given the price, location, and what we needed it for, I thought it was a valid choice."
