I got bed bugs during my stay and management denied my request for a full refund. They also blamed me ‘taking too long to report it’ and said ‘they inspected the rooms and found no bed bugs’. I initially thought the bites were acne or allergies until I saw a bug crawling on the bed and notified reception immediately and showed them a video of the bug. What is most concerning is the fact that they appear to be in denial about the problem so this is likely to keep happening to other travellers.
In addition to the beg bugs, there were multiple other things that were not as advertised. There was no breakfast, the showers had mould in them, I received a stained towel on the first night and the toiletries were insufficient. I only received one small tube of shampoo and conditioner on my first night which I had to use as hand wash and soap. Reception is in another building and was often unmanned when I attempted to address issues.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience. It was the opposite of relaxing and caused a lot of unnecessary stress that impacted my ability to focus at work and took up a lot of time and energy that I could have spent enjoying my stay in London.
