Great hotel for family

My son had told me how nice this hotel was and he was correct. I've never had a room so big with a full kitchen laundry room and a bathroom with such a large tub

Mixed feelings and mixed perspectives

Pros: The cleanliness, the spaciousness, the shower, the jetted tub, the fact that it had a full-size fridge and kitchen.
Cons: The bed, mainly the mattress cover and the scratchy sheets along with an upgrade to the cable, the hallway scent/circulation, more breakfast choices.
Location: An ok location in good walking weather-behind Ballys not too far from the strip.
The staff at the hotel is excellent, no doubt about that. They are very friendly and kind! The room itself was spacious and had everything one would need. It was very clean, and the shower was wonderful. The issues I had were minor but at the same time annoying. The biggest annoyance was the bed. There was a plastic-y mattress cover that was slippery, so the sheets were sliding all over creation during a roll over. The sheets were very scratchy in the beginning but softened up after a couple of days. The toilet seat was loose, requested that it be fixed and it was but still wasn't totally centered. The portable phone in the living area was ancient and didn't work but the phone next to the bed was fine. The cable channels didn't have my faves - Bravo and HGTV - although I didn't spend much time in the room it would have been nice to have them during the off-time. The hall on the 5th floor had a weird scent - air fresheners or more circulation in the hallways would be a big improvement The hotel itself was located off the strip and the walk to Bally's back entrance (by Johnny Rockets) would have been fine if the weather weren't 112-114! We liked Marilyn's Café next door in the Tuscany for breakfast.

Affordable and elegant

Jasmine was great! She sent a bottle of wine and strawberries for our anniversary. Thanks for the great memories!

Front desk &room service staff

Location: This is Vegas.
Front desk, room service, & restaurant staff where projecting an attitude of just going through the motion of doing there job, not well. So, I see it as you could care less if I was there or not. Is it a management issue or personal issue? On the other hand the valet & porters where vibrant & welcoming. Other than your nonsmoking policy don't think your hotel would become a top choice.

Caution!

Pros: Room was nice.
Cons: Self-park! No Resort Fee!
Location: Because of the location, entry and exit was limited. No left turn in or out.
Arrived to discover that it was valet parking only! A business should never force a service upon their customers. At which point, they are no longer "customers". This includes valet parking and Resort Fees. I ended up parking next door to avoid it.

2 Nights in Heaven

Pros: All the appointments were excellent; kitchen perfect; great location to activities
Cons: stools in the computer/business area near lobby
Location: Nice & close to strip but not on it! Easy to walk to Bally's & Paris casinos. Tour bus picked us up for Hoover Dam tour 1 block away at Bally's
Very comfy & super roomy! Beautiful view from balcony - nice & quiet in room.

4 night wedding trip

Pros: Close proximity to the strip, but not the hustle/bustle of it. Rooms were great. 17th floor Veranda for the wedding, gorgeous.
Cons: The front desk messed up the bride's wedding night suite, which caused her much stress. She ended up not getting one, unacceptable.
Location: Ellis Island had fun karaoke next door, walk to Starbucks, Tuscany, Bally's, Caesar's and Lawrys Steak house. Also the souvenir shop/ 7 11 next door.
My best friend had her wedding at the Platinum. Most of the guests stayed there as well. Rooms were lovely, (attentive/sweet maids) service great. We especially loved the wedding planner and pastor provided :) The drinks in the lobby bar were delicious. The restaurant was just ok. I'd suggest eating elsewhere.. We had a few stellar valet/doormen who were very helpful, a few that promised us group rides, etc that did not deliver. (Be wary of Julian.) But in general, we had a lovely experience.

On the edge of Sketchytown

Nice building and rooms. When we booked we knew about the 10 minute walk to the strip and that was fine. But once there we didn't like walking that stretch of road especially at night. Borderline sketchy. Best thing about location, however, was proximity to Ellis Island. Great American diner-type food at very reasonable prices. Fantastic BBQ also.
