I recently stayed at the Rio while attending the WPPI conference and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. After a long day of travel, I walked into a room that was clearly not properly cleaned—there were stains on the floors, worn and torn furniture, dirty towels left in the bathroom, and trash still in the trash can. I notified the front desk and housekeeping, but I was not offered any accommodations for the inconvenience and had to wait for the room to be cleaned. After such a long travel day, this was very frustrating. I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and customer service.

I was very disappointed with the room. It looked nothing like the pictures—much smaller, with worn-out furniture and dirty carpeting. The bedding didn’t feel fresh, and the bathroom needed a deep cleaning. On top of that, the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, which was impossible to ignore.

Staff was nice, however water was unavailable. Resort was closed but we were still charged for usage. No coffee maker or microwave. Room was clean enough. Not the best experience, but not our worst either.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the room was poor. The sheets had unknown fluids on them, the couch also had an unknown substance which appeared to look like throw up. When I arrived to my room the floor was wet and a guy was leaving out and did notify me that he cleaned the carpet before I went in. The chair in my room had chucks of hair in the arm. I attempted to call the front desk regarding these issues and got an automated system. Therefore I left a message pertaining all issues and unfortunately only the sheets were changed. Room did come with a refrigerator which was much needed, unfortunately there was no microwave available in the room or in that floor. (Really not sure if there were any available at all). Outside of the room issues everything else was great.
