Terrible booking experience
If I could give zero stars I would.
I made the reservation and paid in October.
I never heard from the host on how to check in. When I went to Vdara, they did not have any record of my stay. I called VRBO and they tried to call the host, who did not respond. The VRBO representative then said that the company would pay for that night's stay and suggested a Hilton property 0.5 miles away, which I agreed to. I asked if I should walk there, to which the agent said yes.
The call dropped when I was walking to the Hilton. I never received a call back from the agent (though she asked if my mobile number was the right number to call if we did get disonnected). When I arrived at the Hilton they had no record of a reservation. I called VRBO again and spoke to two different agents. Both calls dropped, and neither called back. I finally reached another agent who said the notes said I was to self-reserve that night. She conveyed that since it was now the next day where they were (though it was around 11:00 pm Pacific where I was), they were not able to reserve a room and I was on my own.
I then went on Hotel Tonight and found another room nearby. From the time I tried to check into the Vdara to when I finally got in my new hotel room was well over two hours. And I had a 7:00 am meeting, the first of about 10 meetings that day. A terrible way to start a business trip.
I did receive an email about how to get reimbursed which I still need to fill out.
