Great view of the mountain. Air conditioning works well. Kitchen is very useable. Bedrooms were good (though I can’t imagine sleeping in the upstairs one because it is so open and would be very loud/ hot). There are dogs kept on the property and they barked a lot. We saw lots of birds from the house. We had some major plumbing issues while we were staying. Many of the drains were very slow and one of the showers wound up with a broken pipe, which was problematic.

The outside looks nice. Inside needs work

This house was not accurately listed. Could use a good deep clean, linens did notsmell fresh. Kids room smelled really funky and had no adult size blankets on bunks. Has been remodeled but has major issues.

Good base camp

Good place to sleep, close to everything, but the house lacks hot water in kitchen and some rooms. The upstairs appartement is not comfortable as there is no AC and no windows, traffic starts at 5h30am so in my opinion it should be a kitchen/living room area, not a bedroom. . Very secure property, kids could play around without parents being worried about the traffic. Overall good stay.,but washing dishes in cold water is a challenge….

Nice place in good location, but some repairs needed

This home upon first viewing is very nice. The openess of the bungalow is a fun place to stay. The home would be awesome with a few repairs: ceiling leaks, low plumbing pressure, wobbly kitchen chairs, squeaky beds, and a need for a few more cooking bowels and dishes.

Inaccurate listing

So many issues with our stay. First being a major issue with the listing. This is a 3 bedroom house with an outdoor patio room upstairs. We saw animal feces across that room. The living room has a pull out couch but it’s a pull out cushions. Not a true mattress. If the 3 bedrooms work for you consider this: huge rainstorm and two roofs leaked water onto two different beds. Considering this is a rainforest I wouldn’t recommend proceeding. The owner was very kind meeting us quickly, but not able to fix the issue or offer any constallation. The whole thing was the weirdest rental experience I’ve ever stayed at- and I’ve stayed in hostels all across Europe. None of the doors reach the ceiling so sound carries throughout the entire house. Owner also lives on site. Not mentioned in the listing. He’s very kind, but still needs to be disclosed for people w kids. He also has two mean dogs on the property that nearly attacked me husband one morning. Overall a crazy and not enjoyable experience.

Outstanding Stay

Everything about her stay was very good The house is large, the patio is covered so you can sit outside in the daily rain, and there is even a separate building with an upstairs outdoor bedroom. The host was great, very responsive recommended the best brewery maybe in Costa Rica! Great location for all area activities.. A few minor issues but I would absolutely recommend it.

Great host, loud road noise

The host was wonderful and helped us with anything we needed during our stay. We had a great time visiting La Fortuna and the home was in a fantastic location being right next to downtown and close to the waterfall. There were several things that made our stay less than comfortable so I will share those here. The home is not new. There have been updates but it is not new as listed. The mattresses in the bunk room especially were not ok to sleep on. There is no air conditioning and it was very hot the entire time we were there so it was not comfortable in that respect. This home is right on a kind of busy road so there is road noise well into the night and all day. There’s no hot water in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. And there are 4 full bathrooms not 5. The 4th bathroom is a half bath. The refrigerator doesn’t freeze anything and the doesn’t keep things very cold. These are all things that made our stay a lot less comfortable. The hot Rob was not heated and took 2 days to heat. There was only one towel per person which was challenging because we never had a clean towel. Maybe this is how all homes are in La Fortuna but I wanted to list them so that no one is surprised and asks the right questions. All in all we enjoyed our stay but we’re more comfortable in the two other houses we stayed in during our trip in other areas.

The directions did not go to the house, but to the waterfall.The property did not communicate with us at all. There was no hot water, the house was dusty and seemed unfinished (cords hanging out of walls, patches in places. The laundry was filled with someone's clothes. The gate to park our car in the property would not open, so we had to park outside. Then, gardeners showed up prior to our checkout and were just walking around the property with out alerting us. I would not recommend this place.

Lovely home outside of La Fortuna

Our stay was quite peaceful at this house. There was plenty of room for our family of 6 (4 beds). Saw lots of birds in the mornings while we drank our coffee. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. During the day, there are quite a few cars and motorcycles passing by, but they quiet down at night. Thank you! A small note: the address provided does not take you to the house but to the waterfall parking lot. It is a bit further down the road! Not easy to find in the dark!

Great one night stay!

We stayed for just one night and were very happy with the house. Very clean, great amenities. Plenty of space for a larger group. Private secure parking was very nice. Location is close to so many things near La Fortuna!
