This four bedroom log home is located on 26 wooded acres in Lyon County Kentucky a half mile from beautiful Barkley/Kentucky Lakes, one of the largest man-made lakes in the U.S. with boat launch 1/2 mile from the cabin.

Four marinas in close proximity for boat rental. Fish, ski, wake board, picnic or lunch at waterside restaurants.

Enjoy your own private 5 acre lake stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish (no fishing license required) or just relax at the boat house or on the screened in porch. Available for your use are 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, a small fishing boat with trolling motor and a water bike. We have life jackets for swimmers.

This is Nature's Paradise whether you are 5 or 85. Besides the fire pit, horse shoes and, tree house there is an open field for other activities such as volley ball, baseball, or football. Use your imagination.

I absolutely loved this place. Our kids played for hours in the tree fort, or looking for frogs in the frog pond, or playing with the mini-cornhole set. The adults enjoyed coffee on the screenporch and beer/wine on the patio and dock. The private trails were also fantastic and we basically never left the property all weekend. Owner was responsive to minor issues (e.g. smoke detector battery replacement), which were rectified right away. We are already searching future dates to come back again. Highly recommend.

As always, we really enjoyed our stay. It’s a great getaway! One friend of ours brought his tripod and cast iron pot and we made cowboy beans over the campfire…. like the cowboys did it. What a great easy to make meal under the stars. Fishing was pretty good and the bluegill are getting bigger. If we go next year they should be the right size and we might pan fry some over the fire. As usual, we hiked to the gravel pit then we flew a drone around that formation and property. Should be a nice video.

Perfect family vacation spot
This is a beautiful property and having the lake to ourselves was incredible. The property was very private, except for people riding horses- suddenly they were beside us in the driveway. You do need to watch out for horse poop on some of the trails. The lake was full of fish which we caught and released daily. The lake is big enough for swimmers and fishers to be out at the same time. There were multiple watercraft to be out on the water in. The house has multiple areas for everyone to be without being on top of each other. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen in all my years of staying in vrbos. The kitchen itself was immaculate. The beds were comfortable. The house and property have a summer camp vibe to them. It is a very relaxed feel in the home, easy to be comfortable. We did feel the home needed some thorough cleaning, and some new sheets in one of the bedrooms. It wasn't something we even bothered the home owner with until we left just so he could be aware. The information was gratefully received. I would absolutely rent this home again.

Secluded, private, very peaceful!
This property was exactly what we wanted. Very quiet and secluded. The pond was great. We caught bass, bluegill, and catfish (including a GIANT one) right on the lake. We enjoyed going on night hikes, swimming, kayaking, etc. The inside was very rustic looking, which we love. We had 6 adults, a 16 year old and a 2 year old and everyone seemed to have their own space and favorite things to do. Do NOT leave trash can outside by grill open or the critters will have a feast (the person before us did not empty it out so we cleaned up the leftovers haha). We met the caretaker twice He was there to fix anything, feed the fish and help us charge the boat motor and put the canoes back in their holder. We did not expect him and were not sure we wanted or needed him there daily but he only ended up coming two days that we were aware of, so that was fine. Eat dinner Friday or Saturday night at Buzzard Rock Marina. Good food and music, right on the water. Fish at the dams. Take a day trip to Land Between the Lakes and try and see buffalo and elk. It was great and we may be back someday. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

Lake cabin
This was by far my favorite vacation ever!! So relaxing out on our own private lake. We floated and fished for hours each day we were there. We stayed a week and we did not want to leave. The kids loved the water bike and the kayaks the best. They also loved jumping off the dock. The screened in back porch was a hit for us adults to play card games and relax. The beds were all comfortable. The kitchen has everything you will ever need. We had 3 big thunder storms on our trip there, which were cool, but I'm sure there were tons of sticks to pick up after our stay. There was a water park about 15 minutes away, which was really fun! We already can't wait to come back to this cabin! I would recommend anyone to go...just do it! If you need a peaceful laid back vacation filled with tons of privacy...go!!! We did see some cowboys, they owned the farm next door and were just cutting through by the lake. We also seen a bald eagle fly over the lake into a nearby tree. They have a pizza place called Cabin pizza which was so good!! Not much shopping around, which was fine with me. I didnt even miss watching tv. They do have a couple tvs but the lake took up a lot of our time :)

Our family really enjoyed staying at this secluded cabin and lake for our family vacation. This was my first time in booking a VRBO and though I was a little hesitate on what to expect it all worked out. The place was well maintained and lots of room and things to do. We liked it so well that we stayed at the cabin and lake our whole stay. My son caught a very large catfish and bass. Grandsons enjoyed the water bike the best and their own private area in the loft. We only had one problem with the grill and the caretaker took care of it right away.
