Family Vacation

We stayed in the 3 bedroom property (1311 ). Check in was extremely easy. The house was very clean and included a hot tub as described. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The 1st bedroom at the top of the stairs had shower only. The second bedroom had tub/ shower combination. The shower didnt work. We had to call for maintenance to fix it. The mattress on the bed in the middle room was paper thin. It was like sleeping on a piece of board. My family members who stayed in that room complained about their backs hurting throughout our whole trip. No daily housekeeping services as advertised. We called for more towels, but ended up washing our own towels before the new towels arrived. The pier info is not accurate..the code turns the lock but doesnt open the door, its bolted from the other side. The pier is just a small strip leading to a neighborhood pond area, not to the beach as told to us by the Kees Bay representative. No available trash bags or extra toilet paper, paper towels..we had to go purchase on our own

The house was amazing! Very spacious and multi-level. It also had a garage for my car. Each bedroom had its own private balcony. The kitchen/dining area was large and laid out nicely. I would love to come back!

This property was not the one represented on your website nor the one we've stayed in three times prior. It is a former model home up for sale. Wish we had correct property pictures that displayed the four sets of stairs. Weren't advised of this until we received an email from Kees with our door code!!! My husband has two knee replacements and this was tiring. We feel this was kinda bait and switch and we should have been advised and given the opportunity to keep or opt out. Not sure if this "misrepresentation" is Expedia's or Kees Vacations, but it needs to be cleared up before others get duped.

Give it a try

Check-in/ check-out is very simple. Unit was appropriate for 4 adults/ 2 teens. Unit was clean and functional when we arrived. MBR mattress needs to be replaced and cookware shows a lot of use. Location is great relative to activities and food. If you want to be "on the beach" this unit is not for you, it will require a drive to the public beach.

Zero house keeping . Terrible parking . People where rude on the phone . Did not get the house we where told there was no loft did not have the two full size that where promised .... will never stay here again

Great day stay

We really enjoyed our stay! The place was really nice with a few exceptions. The mattresses we hard, and the sheets were not clean. The kids loved the pool, and I loved the running trail right outside of the complex.

Nice Stay at the OBX!

This was our second stay at this vacation rental home. Still clean and well kept; carpet flooring in the living area has been switched out to a flooring that looks like wood, but guessing it is vinyl. The only negative my husband and I have is the mattress in the master is very hard compared to ours at home and not to our liking. The other thing you need to know is this community is not fully built up so construction is ongoing. Six homes built since last May and 2-3 currently under construction. The workers do keep "beach time" whether intentional or just the slow pace of beach life, so it's not usually noisy first thing in the morning, but they do work on Sundays as we've been told the developers in FL are pushing to "get it done". BTW...as this is a rental home, there is no on sight staff. Kees Vacations is the manager for the property and has a list of dos/don'ts posted on the fridge with a local contact number if you need help.

Amazing single family house!

The home was miraculous the accommodations are wonderful. Less than a mile from the beach for price of a single-family rental even though it rained we enjoyed every bit of it!

House in the outer banks

Houseso were really nice. Never did have any trash pickup. Other than that we were left alone. Good experience.

We had a lovely stay in the Outerbanks, definitely because we had the space to spread out at the end of the day and we all had our own beds and didn't have to share with the kids. The only thing I can really complain about was that under one of the beds we found a quantity of popcorn and broken red glass. Otherwise it was very clean, well kept, and very convenient.

Condo nice but need better communication w/ Kees!

This is NOT a hotel but rather a condo or townhome managed by a local realty firm. We got off on the wrong foot when the physical address provided was for the community swimming pool and the "fill in" pool attendant had no idea how to help us. I called Kees Realty's toll free number and was told I should have received an email the day before with the unit# and code to the front door. This was not received, even in my spam mail!!! After searching for about 5 minutes, she found my name and gave me the info over the phone. The condo is spacious and has a washer/dryer and even a single car garage to use if you have a smaller size vehicle. We cooked breakfast in the condo and grilled out one night, otherwise ate meals out @ local venues. The above phone call was "check in" and there was no "check out" other than the infoo on the fridge to strip the sheets off the beds and put them @ front door and the door code changes @ 10:00 the day you leave. I am hoping not to see any surprises on my cc statement!!!

I arrived Saturday April 23rd with friends the place was enough room for everyone looked in the kitchen and trash was in the trash can with spoil food and it was smelly the soap and shower dispensers were all leaking on the floor and counter top I actually slipped and fell in the shower because of excess shower gel in the shower I called customer service because there were no extra trash bags or paper towel she seem to not care that I had a accident with in the shower I was very shocked that will be my family and friends First and last time staying there.

Horrible Location

This is a development that backs up to nothing. No views and plenty of new unit construction going on right next to where you stay. Stay away is my advice. Plenty of much better choices.

Devonshire by Kees resorts...perfect for our needs

First, I was very pleased with the stay and we got an excellent value. I reserve 5 stars for truly exceptional properties; a four star rating from me is a high reccomendation. We went to a wedding in Nags Head on the weekend of September 10. The high OBX season is over, but the prices for individual hotel rooms were prohibitively high for marginal quality. We decided to book the Kees resort property as we had 3 couples going to the wedding, so 6 of us stayed there. This is not a hotel room, but a 3 bedroom beach house in a resort community. It was clean, nice, and very easy, once I figured out where and how to check in. The address provided by Hotels.com is actually the pool house. You need to call Kees itself and get your unit number and code for the door. Once we did that, it was easy. There are mixed reviews on these Devonshire units, as I believe individual owners maintain them differently, but ours was clean and comfortable. It is a mile from the beach, but has a nice community pool and we were not expecting beachfront. Once again, this was a great value.
