Yes you are payng very nominal rates here and get to stay in historic old town where we are located in downtown Key West, all amenites are posted on our site and 3rd party sites such as this one. You need a BIG shower? we do not have one, lol. Truth!

I would never stay here again. The music from a bar next store was deafening. No one said anything about the loud music. There was no outdoor space as shown on line. Every Venetian blind in the place did not work and was missing slats. Bathroom needs a complete overhaul. The closest door had a big whole in it. The curtains looked like rags thrown up. Never again 👎

Pros: I will say, location, location, location. This place is prime, right in the thick of it all! Really quaint atmosphere tucked back in behind a little cuban restaurant.
Cons: Room was bright, needs blackout curtains. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Shower was TINY. It's probably in the fine print, but, no hair dryer. My wife was not happy about that. Be aware, no place to store luggage before or after checkout before your flight. Need to drag it around with you.
I would stay there again, it would not be my first choice though.

You may check in at The Smallest Bar located at the front entrance of the building on (124) Duval St. Should you plan to arrive prior to check-in time we will accommodate you by allowing you to store your luggage, provided you notify us in advance. Check-out time is prior to 11am.

We loved that it was very central and easy going, but definitely needs updating and possibly some toppers on the matresses to off set the fact that they're on plywood. Maybe some bars in the bathroom to hang towels to dry. Hardly any lighting and definitely need to fix the bathroom light

Charming Hotel in the heart of the Activity!
We would stay here again. Hotel matched the description. Some updates would be nice but wouldn't stop up from staying here. Bed was not great but room was cool and comfortable to retreat from the hot August sun.

BEST location on all of Duval, that's about it.
The Old Customs House Inn definitely has the best location on all of Duval. It is closest to the bars like Sloppy Joe's, Rick's & Irish Kevin's. However, it is by no means a "hotel"... The staff are all very nice & courteous, so zero complaints there. & because of how nice they are, I actually feel bad writing this, but people need to know.
Issues:
•The floors are sticky, literally felt like they'd never been cleaned.
•There are HUGE cracks in the walls that lead outside,
•The AC unit is not big enough for the size of the room (which doesn't help the fact that there are holes in the walls to let any cold air out)
•The shower is probably about 2 square feet. Hardly enough room for one person & I'm 5'1
•A few of the pillows had a woman's name embroidered onto them, so they're obviously just left behind by previous guests.
•No ventilation in the bathroom. If you shut the door while you're in there, there's a good chance you'll sweat to death or feel like you're about to suffocate.
•As they state, there is no on site parking, which is fine if you know where to park (we chose a garage about a mile away near Dante's, just so it would be covered but there are other options).
One review said that this is not a hotel to stay in if you're planning on spending time in the room & I second that. There are better options for the room for the same or slightly higher cost. The location cannot be beat though, so just weigh your priorities! (And bring extra towels!)

Great location
Great location in the heart of key west. The room is typical keys with basic furniture but very clean. Big bathroom but the shower you couldn't turn around in. Its not the place if you want a good nights sleep. It's a party town and you will hear it all night. I would stay there again but in another room not one on the street.

Unexpected and nice
Pros:Convenience of staying on Duval. Room was clean and comfortable. The bird! We unloaded and parked at the city lot for $13 a day...not a bad walk.
Cons:A little more privacy on the front window covering. There was a hole in the wall of unit 1 in the bathroom that needs to be fixed.
After reading the reviews I was really afraid of what we might find...but all in all it was a great stay in a fantastic location on Duval St. for a Wed/Thurs night stay. We are not youngsters, so we were thinking this might be a rowdy place to stay. But, it was quiet even at night with the bars so close. (Our usual place 5 blocks off Duval was booked full with a wedding party)
It was weird though not having a front desk staff--the bartender was not a great font of info, an email the day of arrival went unanswered...but we muddled through with not having any batteries in the remote, not knowing where to leave our keys, and no real info in the room about wifi and such. The A/C worked fine, the bathroom was clean, the bed was supremely comfortable (for us) and the kitchen was a nice perk. Pickles the bird was adorable.
Be aware the room deposit was manually run for just the room amount and no taxes--not per what the Travelocity receipt said. All of the money end of things went just fine with no glitches exactly as per the email after the deposit was run.
A couple things for your information:
1. We were checking this place out for a trip with our 10 pound dog--and we won't be doing that as there is not a blade of grass where she could have been walked at 2 a.m. without getting dressed and going around a block or two or three.
2. There is a restaurant right outside the lower two units front doors...and there was only a lace curtain up in the window of unit 1.
