Great location...not so much in summer

Liked how secluded the hotel was, but wasn't told anything about the village. Booked a specific mountain view room, got a view of the back of the resort buildings. Walls were paper thin and we were never able to get good sleep. Found stains on blankets and old pills on the floor. I bet it's nicer during ski season, but we expected more

End of Season Get Away

Pros: The location stole the show. The mountains were breath-takingly beautiful and so quiet. The lodge was comfortable and I loved the hanging flowers.
Cons: I enjoy finding a few herb tea bags and/or hot chocolate in the room - for we who do not enjoy coffee.
Location: This resort is quite remote - near the top of a tall mountain; but that is why it is so charming. No traffic, no noise and fully self contained.
My husband, sister and I spent two days and two nights at Teewinot Lodge. It was the end of there summer season so here were only a few guests at the lodge. We generally had the place to ourselves and it was FANTASTIC. The room was clean and spacious and the lobby had a lovely fireplace which the staff came to light immediately for us. The area had experienced a freak snow storm a few days before we arrived so it was quite cold outside but the restaurants and pool/hot tub were inviting and the food was delicious. We also spent a day riding the ski lift the 2000 feet to the summit. The staff gave us blankets to snuggle in and on our 5th and final trip the clouds cleared and the view was spectacular. It was a fun, short break and we had a great time. Thank you to the staff and management for making our visit so beautiful, peaceful and enjoyable. Marty Colvin, Mesa, AZ

Horrible stay

Pros: nothing
Cons: Everything, start by lowering your price if your hotel is stuck in 1981
Hotel address is wrong in travelocity. Hotel is at end of road 9 miles away, not in Alta. Hotel is outdated, rude staff on phone. No air conditioning in room in the middle of summer. Couple that was staying above us ran around till 11:45 pm and banged into everything in their room.

Don't let the pictures fool you

When I chose this spot it was purely blind luck. It was the best decision. I'm not from the area and didn't realize this is a ski resort. A very nice one at that. I also was not aware that in the summer, you can take one of the lifts to the top, and see spectacular views of the Tetons. Actually, you see Idaho and Montana too up there. I would do this again in a heartbeat. The one drawback was that if the room had A/C I was never able to get it to turn on. The windows opened and the fresh air was cool and crisp, and probably better anyway.

Ski resort - off season

Popular destination but a bit over priced for a rather worn facility. Hardy anyone around - difficult even to find someone at the front desk. Our destination was actually Driggs, but nothing available so we stayed 12 miles uphill at the resort. No included breakfast with sketchy internet. Will pass in the future.
