"It's on private beach"
Couldn't ask for much more, great people, good food, great views, walking distance to Ixtapa, 90 pacos to go to z-wat, right in the middle of everything, except quite, peaceful, and oh so enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone who loves the sun and warm surf. We will be going back.

"Extremely Helpful Staff"
I had a big issue that they were extremely helpful with! I accidentally left my passport and a decent amount of money in the safe there. I was traveling back to Guadalajara when we realized this. Guadalajara is at least 7 hours away. The staff did everything they could to get it back to me! I got it the next day.

"Friendly staff and best view in Zihuatanejo"
My wife and I had such a great experience at the Viceroy Zihuatanejo that we are already planning a return trip with our kids. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and kind. We upgraded our room to a beach suite with the help of Viri at the front desk, alway with a beautiful warm smile. The restaurant staff, Luis,Salvador, Alfredo and Felipe who has been at this location for 36 years, were so kind and helpful. Even the grounds keeper,Isreal, who we saw carting away fresh coconuts he had just plucked from the property, when we asked what his plans were for them offered my wife and I fresh coconut juice which we happly accept. We took the cooking class offered at the hotel and it was a great experience. Chef Paco and Juan were amazing. They really made this trip special. We were treated like VIPs in the cooking class. The big bonus was that this is turtle season. When I found out that turtles were coming on the beach to lay eggs I went nuts. We told the staff to please call us at any hour if they see a turtle. The security guard at night, who had a very unique name, did notify the front desk to call us and it was an experience that I will never forget. This hotel encourages the protection of the eggs by make suring the eggs are reburied on their property so they are guarded and ensuring the future well being of these turtles. I had never written a review after any of my trips before but this one I just couldn't wait.

"Very pleasant hotel with great access to the beach"
This was our third stay at Villa Mexicana. The staff was exceptionally helpful. Upon our arrival we found the A/C unit to be malfunctioning. It was fully repaired by 9:00 P.M. that evening. Housekeeping was excellent and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The location on Playa la Ropa is excellent - midway between the north and south ends of the beach. This is a family friendly hotel. Several restaurants are close at hand as well as the Villa Restaurant which also offers service under the palapas. One can be as relaxed or as active as one prefers. A little "book exchange basket" library is provided in the lobby and is appreciated by the many readers as they lounge. Taxi service is quick and efficient.

"One of best hotels in the world."
We've been in La Casa que Canta twice. Both for our anniversaries. We plan to visit it every year. One of the best hotels in the world, with the best service and the best food. Even though the beach is just 50 steps away you have a perfect view to the sea, the waves crash into the rock cliff amazingly. By far it is the best restaurant in Zihuatanejo (if you're not staying there, you should make reservation to have dinner). it has two amazing pools (one with a view to the bay and the other one with salty sea water), great to relax. Zihuatanejo is just 10 minutes away. It is a beautiful Mexican town with great tacos, restaurants, shops and bars. Safe place to spend vacations, safe place to travel, safe place to go with friends, family or for a romantic escapade.

    Ixtapa Hotel & Travel Guide

Need to dip your toes in the sand? Flights to Ixtapa, Mexico will have you sipping margaritas on the beach in no time. Situated on the southwest coast of the Mexican state of Guerrero, this town was designed as a tourist destination in the 1960s. Lucky for you, you can find cheap hotels in Ixtapa since the city is still small.

    Out and About in Ixtapa

Cool ocean breezes and proximity to the Sierra Madres mountain range are the winning combinations in Ixtapa. They give this town moderate temperatures that are perfect for recreational sports like horseback riding or hiking those coastal trails. Take an eco-tour among the many coves dotting 15 miles of beach, or go snorkeling at nearby Isla Ixtapa. While there, make sure you visit a crocodile preserve and feed or admire them catching some sun. If you prefer less teethy water life, take a belly ride on a dolphin or a day fishing trip. Ixtapa hotels are only 4 miles from Zihua, a laid-back town where you can stroll cobblestone streets and buy handmade art amid colorful boutiques.

    Eating and Drinking

Fresh seafood is one benefit of staying in hotels in Ixtapa; check out the fish market on Paseo del Pescador, where you can eat the catch of the day. Try shrimp tacos or chili relleno in the downtown hotel strip; this same area is full of hotel bars where you can sip a cerveza or pina colada and listen to live music. If fine dining is what you want, head to five-star restaurants in the resorts for seared octopus and a mixology tequila.

When you book Ixtapa vacation packages with Travelocity, you can save up to $537 when you book a hotel and flight at the same time. That should get you plenty of margaritas for beach relaxing.
