My family and I traveled 5 hours to this property. We arrived 2.5 hours after check in at 4z Upon arrival, I got a weird, dirty smell. I thought “oh maybe that’s just the smell of the house, it’s fine.” I walk into the kitchen, there is dishes on the stove, the dishwasher is full of dishes, the kitchen table is full of crumbs. I look to the laundry room and there is a pile of towels. I begin thinking “I don’t think this place was cleaned.” My family and I sit down to eat our takeout. I message the host “ I don’t think this place has been cleaned” My heart is racing, I’m not enjoying my dinner. I tell my husband, let’s check the rest of the house. All the rooms met us with unmade bed. All the restrooms with a pile of towels. One of the bathrooms had a used syringe in the trash can. At this point, I’m not comfortable staying here. The host offers a 175 discount, a 1 pm checkout and mentions that the cleaner are on their way. I’m hesitant to accept the offer because how long will the cleaners take? It’s already 7 pm. My 2 year old should be going to sleep soon. The cleaners won’t have enough time to wash the bed before nighttime. I request a full refund. The host and homeowner were responsive and gave a full refund. We checked out at 8pm. We checked into a near by hotel with extreme disappointment. After all we had booked this trip to celebrate our family’s 5 year anniversary.
