I had a disappointing stay at Waikiki Malia Hotel. The front desk staff were not friendly or helpful, and they were extremely strict about both check-in and check-out times, with no flexibility at all.
The room appeared recently remodeled, which was a plus, but it was not properly cleaned, had an unpleasant smell, and the walls were very thin. I could clearly hear conversations and the TV from the room next door, which made it difficult to relax.
Parking was a major issue. The garage is extremely tight and not suitable for larger vehicles. I hit the wall both when entering and exiting the garage, and the walls were already covered in scratches, which clearly shows this is a common problem.
They did offer complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning, which was a nice gesture, but there were no lids or trays available, making it inconvenient to take the coffee to go.
Overall, the negatives outweighed the positives, and I will not be returning to this hotel.
