Wonderful holiday
We've just spent a wonderful two weeks at Les Tachats as a party of four, two couples, renting both the cottage and the studio. Sheila and Kevin were perfect hosts. Their knowledge of the area was so useful and we visited some lovely towns on their recommendation. They also recommended some lovely restaurants and even made reservations for us. We took advantage of the Friday BBQs both weeks and thoroughly enjoyed their food and company. Kevin's bread and Sheila's desserts were some of the nicest we have eaten. Blessed with beautiful weather for the whole two weeks, we spent most of our time relaxing in the lovely pool area and gardens. It was the perfect holiday and we all agreed that we would love to return.

Fabulous cottage in great location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this fabulous gite. It is well equipped, pool is fabulous, play area and outside equipment kept our girls (5 & 7) busy for hours. Location is amazing, it's surrounded in fab countryside yet easy to walk or cycle to both Hautefort, st Agnan. Supermarket 10 mins walk away. Plenty to do in surrounding area - beach at lake rufillac, chateaux galore, kayaking in cherveix Cuba's, great for cycling as roads super quiet, lake coucou's version of wipe out was fun! Finally Sheila and Kevin were perfect hosts, v friendly and helpful. We'd definitely return

A lovely family retreat
We stayed for two weeks at the cottage. This place pretty much ticked all the boxes for us, being a family with two small children. The cottage is surrounded by a huge beautiful garden for the children to explore. The pool area is in good condition (surrounded by beautiful flowers) and the playground is well equipped. The restaurants in the village of Hautefort is within walking distance and the supermarket is only five minutes away. There is lots of family oriented things to do within driving distance from the cottage. We visited several caves and troglodyte villages, dino parks and a huge sweetwater aquarium during our stay. We recommend anyone who longs for some peace and quiet to come here and sit under Sheila & Kevins willow trees, watch the sun go down behind the hills with a glass of good wine. It is true magic!

Charming house. Fantastic location
We loved the property and its proximity to other areas. We're disappointed with Internet availability and although we had the property to ourselves, we didn't realize that there was another Gîte downstairs and that we could have been sharing the immediate grounds of the house.

Sheila and Kevin were always there to help, but never intrusive.
The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, the swimming pool maintained to a level of perfection and if you have children there are lots of activities and diversions in the very spacious gardens

A lovely gite, on a nice site, in a super area
Nice period property, on a quiet, but very convenient position on the edge of the village. Easy walking distance to a good supermarket. Very welcoming hosts, and the property is surprisingly easy to find. All the amenities you need, in a lovely setting. Garden and pool are excellent. Sun or shade spots available. Plenty to see in the area, and restaurants just a short drive away. ie less than 5 minutes. Chateaus, lakes, caverns to visit, and all easy to get to. No negatives, only positives, and will definitely consider returning. Recommended.

Welcoming hosts, relaxing stay with lots on site to keep young children entertained.
The cottage is cosy and well maintained and a treat to have an ensuite roll-top bath. The children were very excited about the bunk beds! The pool is clean and very welcoming on a hot day. The playground kept the children entertained, giving us a chance to relax. Our hosts, Sheila and Kevin were friendly, helpful, but unobtrusive. We recommend accepting their offer of a BBQ on the Friday evening! The cottage is within walking distance (15-20min) of the centre of Hautefort and, very handily, a 5 min walk from a supermarket. The bakeries in both Hautefort and St Agnan are excellent!

A wonderful family break!
We've just (reluctantly) returned from a fantastic two weeks stay in the cottage at Les Tachets with our three children aged 12, 10 and 6. The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and provided an excellent base for some great days out. We particularly enjoyed canoeing down the Dordogne, cycling on the velo rail (Thiviers), visiting the local lake beach at Rouffiac, exploring towns such as Sarlat and Brantome and the beautiful local Hautefort chateau! Sheila and Kevin were the perfect hosts, always on hand if needed but without being intrusive. The gardens are stunning and so well maintained as was the pool area which was a particular highlight for our 3!

This characteristic cottage suited our requirements, located in a picturesque, quiet setting.
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Our children loved the pool and used it every day. The cottage, Les Tachats was lovely with lots of character and a beautiful big garden. Sheila and Kevin are very welcoming and friendly and are happy to give suggestions for good places to visit. We visited the Chateau De Hautefort which is a five minute drive away and worth a visit. We also did some canoeing, the water park and the dinosaur park. We went to Sarlat too and looked around the market. We had a lovely meal at a restaurant which is a ten minute walk away from the cottage. The locals have an evening market on a Thursday with live music and cheaper food and drink, a great atmosphere. We would recommend Les Tachats to friends and family. It ticked all of our boxes. Thanks again Sheila and Kevin.

Beautiful cottage, very relaxing stay
We stayed in the cottage-my husband and I and 3 children (aged 3, 7 and 15). The cottage was small but suited our needs very well - it had everything we needed and felt very private, even though Shiela and Kevin were close by if we needed them. Pool area was perfect-very clean and with the peace of mind of being fully enclosed. The kids loved the gardens, and it was great to have WiFi to keep the teenager happy! We enjoyed a lovely barbeque with Shiela, Kevin and the other guests one evening. There is plenty to do in the area-the chateau in hautefort was worth a visit and there is an underground cave about 10 mins drive away. We also visited sarlat, perigeaux, roqamadour, forget des singes, prehiso park, inland lakes and jacqou park which was great for the younger children and good value. We would definitely recommend the property and would stay again if we were in the area. Thanks Shiela and Kevin!
