I liked the value and the friendly front desk clerk. Breakfast room was clean and stocked with delicious pastries, cereal, fruit, waffle-maker, hard-boiled eggs, and other great items. Hotel has been modernized by parts remain dated but totally acceptable. Would stay there again!

The air quality in the entire hotel was horrible. Good breakfast though. And bathroom was clean and modern. Would not stay here again. Needs updating overall.

A Literal Dump

Pros: Not a thing.
Cons: A bulldozer and a tanker truck of bleach.
What a horrendous property. I accidentally booked it when misunderstanding a family member's referral (she meant a new property that just opened in West Hartford Center), so I didn't bother to read the reviews here before booking. Anyway, it is a literal dump - the parking area has piles of nasty old furniture , trash and rubbish everywhere, garish high security lighting glaring, a C-store in front with its own mountains of trash surrounding it, and a noisy nightclub next door that has a reputation around town for hooker traffic. I worried about the car all night. Inside, the maintenance and cleanliness is awful in all public areas from the reception area to the elevator to all the hallways. My wife was disgusted and I was ashamed to make her stay there (we arrived after 6P). The room wasn't too awful and the linens clean, but there were room parties and loud guests everywhere. An ozone odor removing machine was left in the room, so who knows about that. We quickly studied bedbug procedures after departure and vacuumed/laundered everything the minute we got home.

Do Not Stay Here

Wanted to stay near Blue Back Square so location led me to book this hotel. Front desk personnel varied from unhelpful to rude. Room was run down and the HVAC was turned off when we checked in so it was 90 deg inside. Printer had no ink so I couldn't print boarding pass and clerk at front desk made no attempt to help. A couple checking in asked front desk if they ever had bed bugs there & the person answered yes! I could go on but won't. Would never stay here again or recommend to others.

Friendly staff, depressing rooms

I found this hotel to be rather depressing. It's an old ugly building next to a club that gets very noisy at night (although we couldn't' hear the music from our room). The furniture & bedding were about a Motel 6 quality. There was a decent flat screen TV. They were renovating while we were there in October 2013, so maybe it will be better after. Their front desk staff was friendly, and there was parking available & free, which was nice. For the record, I knew it was rated 2 Stars when I booked it, but it was close to where I needed to be, so I thought I'd try it out, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Dear LCtravel3, Unfortunately, the structure of the building is not something we can change: It was designed over fifty years ago. However, we have been trying to improve the tiny garden wall to give the entrance to give it some pizazz. It will please you to know that the first phase of room upgrades was completed, on 3rd and 4th floors, shortly after your stay with us. With our continued improvements, and recent staff changes, we are hopeful to make the building feel as friendly and as inviting as our employees. Your hesitation to book a future stay with us is understandable due to the inconvenience of the property alterations. With that said, I would recommend giving us one more chance after phase two has been completed. I think you will be most pleased! Respectfully Yours,
