One towel per room. Don't dare to ask for an extra towel for the sauna! That's a firm 'no' - 'you can get a clean towel tomorrow ' was the answer of the person at the counter. Absolutely ridiculous!

Fun place to stay a night with all the Viking references, but the room was very, very small and barely navigable with 2 average size people.

Room was small tight fit for two people and luggage, beds were comfortable. Bathroom was really wet, the water from the shower soaks the entire area. The breakfast was filling but limited. Oatmeal, cereal, waffels, bread/crossants, spread, and salad bar with hard boiled eggs. Only 4 parking spots infront of the hotel but can park in the resturant parking next door but it did fill up one of the nights. And I had to squeeze into a place that was really a spot...didnt get a ticket.

Check-in was friendly enough, but overall communication from staff was poor. We weren’t told anything about local transport, bus stops, attractions, or tourist maps (which we only discovered on our last day). Dining advice was limited to the hotel restaurant, and when we asked for a menu, none was available immediately. We were told about reduced hours on Boxing Day, but that was about it. The room was a major disappointment and not as advertised on the website. We were given a very small “cupboard” room, which we didn’t know existed. The double bed was pushed against the wall, making it impractical for two people. The bathroom was awful: the hot water smells strongly of sulphur (not mentioned on the website), the shower is tiny and floods the whole room, and the sink is barely usable. Walls are extremely thin — you can hear everything next door. Breakfast was poor with very limited choice and no cooked options beyond porridge or a waffle. Room cleaning only happens if requested, and even then they only provide towels, not proper cleaning. We stayed for New Year’s Eve but weren’t told the restaurant would close early, that buses stop running early, or that celebrations are mainly in Reykjavik. We felt let down, as NYE is meant to be a big event in Iceland. I’d happily return to Iceland, but I would not stay at this hotel again.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to check in early. Rooms were clean and quiet. Multiple restaurants were within walking distance. The only thing that kept this from being 5 starts was the bathroom amenities - no shampoo, no conditioner (and no, body soap is not an acceptable alternative).

Room was clean but tiny for 2 people. It was only for 1 night. Bit of a novelty hotel, staff friendly. Breakfast could have been a bit more gluten free friendly but there was a nice selection in general for breakfast for other eaters.

The decor and theming was good different, the issues I had were no soap, shampoo, showergel in the room at all, travelling light so had none packed or available, the 2 dispensers in the bathroom contained alcohol sanitizer, 1 is right next to shower so luckily I realised before putting in hair😔😔 bed coverings itchy and scratchy maybe too much starch used, breakfast room theming was good, a bit of a tight squeeze around the buffets area and coffee machine etc. get some hand soap and showergel in those dispensers would be better than sanitizer

The cabin style room I stayed in was clean and spacious. I LOVED the Viking theme of it all and it is the main reason I picked this hotel. Breakfast was a big plus and I really enjoyed my meals at the restaurant. The sauna was wonderful and although the hot tub is small and tucked next to room windows, it still felt private. I would 100% stay here again!

The room was fairly small and outdated, but it sort of added a charm to our one night layover in Iceland. It was clean and did have everything we needed. The staff was very polite, professional and helpful. The breakfast was a very good variety of options and it was so cool to eat in a cave! The hotel let us store our luggage after we checked out for a few hours (though they said we could all day, if needed) while we went to check out IKEA before flying out, which was very kind!
