We are experienced travelers and have used VRBO on more than 1 occasion. We usually try to be gentle with our comments or criticisms. Not this time. Property was not available at advertised check-in time - waited 1 ½ hours while property was properly cleaned. Photos and write-up are not even close to reality (look at theirs – look at ours). Key negative features have been cleverly omitted and cropped from photos and words carefully used. Notice house is in the MIDDLE of a COMMERCIAL PUBLIC boat ramp/dock. Includes café/bar with party facilities right outside front steps. Lake views are essentially non-existent. According to neighbors, facility is often jammed and includes bands and other events. These facilities often attract young people there to play, party, play loud music, etc. Public boat ramps are usually NOISY and LOUD. Alcohol is often common and flowing. House gets unwelcome harassment from patrons (see Stop sign pic) that is VERY worrisome. Not sure if Security exists to protect renters. Sheriff’s dept had just left when we arrived. Inside, living room sofa was unusable due to heavy dog smells and hair. Living room is sunken - includes HUGE stepdown, which is unsafe. My wife fell heavily there due to poor lighting. Safety items such as safety strips and safety rails are not present. There is no tranquility/serenity available here. Always worried about unwanted people knocking on doors and/or harassing us. We would NEVER rent this property again. But… YOU DECIDE...
