Wir hatten unglaubliche schöne 2 Wochen gehabt. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich. Es wurde uns frisches Obst, Olivenöl und selbstgemachtes Mousaka gebracht. Sie waren sehr bemüht das es uns gut ging. Das Haus und die Anlage waren sehr sauber, es gab frische Handtücher und Bettwäsche. Der Grill war morgens bereits gereinigt. Auch die Kommunikation mit der Agentur ThinkVilla war ausgezeichnet. Vielen lieben Dank für alles!

Perfect Holiday Getaway

We stayed at Villa Maria for 14 nights in September as a family of 7 adults and a 7 month old baby. The villa was beautiful and very well equipped. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly and made us feel extremely welcome.

5 Star Experience

Our stay at this beautiful villa was exceptional. Everything - the villa, the pool, the communication with the owner was just beyond our expectations. The BBQ area was cleaned after each use and replenished with charcoal; the rubbish left in the bin outside emptied every morning. The fresh towels and bedsheets were left for us to change. Elena and Nicos who were looking after our villa have made a wonderful surprise by baking a cake, they also brought us some local fruits and backed stuffed aubergine!! On arrival they have placed some snacks and water in the fridge for us!! Overall, we felt like really valuable guests. I would highly recommend this villa and would be happy to come back there again! Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable!!

A wonderful week

I came to Crete with my husband and three children - all in their 20’s. We had an amazing time at the Villa. The pictures on the e website are accurate: beautiful pool, spacious living quarters, great kitchen. Comfortable rooms. The village is pretty and interesting and the nearby town, Panormo is lovely and welcoming. Above all - our hosts, Nicos and Eleni were incredibly helpful and friendly. They brought us lemons, fruit, cake- all kinds if treats. It was a fabulous vacation - atarting with this lovely home. Thanks so much

We stayed here for 10 days and it was absolutely lovely. Elena and Nikos were welcoming, as well as Nikos cleaning the BBQ each day and supplying with fresh coal. Easy access to Bali beach and other amenities! We would 100% recommend this to friends and family and would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

GREAT GETAWAY

Plenty of room for 7 adults to have a memorable vacation and unwind. Crete is magical and this location was the perfect retreat we all needed with the views and distance from ‘city life’. The hosts are amazing and gracious and kind. HIGHLY recommend.

Great Villa!

Villa was lovely and very well equipped. Beautiful surroundings and pool a great size and everyone loved. Hosts very welcoming and helpful with assisting to the local supermarkets as we didn't have a car and everything quite a distance away. Local beach Rethymnon was beautiful and everything you needed shops/restaurants all there. Very relaxing holiday, would definately go back.

Villa amazing and Nikos and his wife were lovely with regular gifts from the grounds - a hire car or excellent taxi service recommended by villa management is essential- nearby villages Panormos and Bali are not walkable but are both fabulous. Thoroughly recommended.

Great Villa for a Relaxing Two Weeks

First off, the youngest member of our party (aged 11) would like to say “if you are reading this review book this villa now!”. Up front we should mention the amazing hosts Eleni and Nikos. We (2 adults and 2 children aged 13 & 11) had a fabulous stay in Villa Anemomylous II (Villa Maria) - we found it to be incredibly clean, spacious and well equipped for our stay. There is a great pool and plenty of areas/balconies to eat so can be in the shade or sun at any time of the day. We loved our breakfasts/lunches with a view and evening meals by the pool. The BBQ area was perfect and we have to thank Nikos who not only cleaned the BBQ daily after every use but also provided and topped up charcoal, firelighters and a lighter. There were plenty of towels etc and Eleni topped us up with fresh towels and bedding at regular intervals. This was in addition to the numerous deliveries of food - in our two week stay she brought us fresh tomatoes; a watermelon; oranges; lemons; stuffed aubergine mousakas and stuffed courgette flowers - all incredibly delicious (thank you Eleni!). Our only minor criticism would be that the mattresses are quite hard and take some getting used to but this didn’t detract from our stay. The villa is near Skepasti village which does have a bar and mini market but it didn’t look our thing so regularly visited the lovely harbour village of Panormo which is full of great restaurants/cafes, souvenir shops and supermarkets at literally a 5 minute drive. For main shopping the less touristy town of Perama was only 10 minutes away and has great butchers/bakers/fishmongers and larger supermarket options. Also nearby and definitely worth visiting are the Melidoni Cave (with a great cafe which we visited a few times just for the view and top notch milk-shakes) and Margarites (and it’s ceramic shops/tavernas). Finally, we also drove the rough road out of the village to the Kousistres beach (on Google maps - we parked at the top of the dirt road at the top of the zig-zag road down to the beach) a number of times. It was often deserted with shingle beach, good snorkelling plus a natural pool which the children loved. In summary we had a fabulous time at this villa and would recommend it to anyone; it is well located and equipped and we were incredibly well looked after by Eleni & Nikos. Thank you!

Best villa holiday!

From our first communication with Valia, until the moment we closed the door on this beautiful villa for the final time, we were looked after incredibly well. We are two families of four and enjoy this type of holiday as it allows us the freedom to do as we please, without having to stick to regimented meal times, etc. The villa was outstanding. We were greeted by the owners and given a tour around, to ensure all facilities were shown. The cleanliness was just as we had hoped it would be and throughout our stay we were provided with fresh bedding, towels, stocks of toilet rolls and Mrs Nikos even brought fresh melons for us from their daughter’s farm. Each morning, Mr Nikos would clean the outside areas and pool, emptied the bin and even cleaned the BBQ and replenished the charcoal for us; going well above and beyond our expectations. This holiday has really surpassed previous villa holidays and we feel it would be very difficult to find anything better. Huge thanks to Valia and Mr and Mrs Nikos. We definitely hope to return in the future, The Edwickers and Hemingways.

Traum-Urlaub mit sehr lieben Gastgebern

Die Villa liegt in einem sehr kleinen Ort (Skepasti) mit entsprechend wenig Infrastruktur, ohne Mietwagen geht nichts. Die Villa ist sehr sauber und verfügt über einen eigenen Pool, der vom Vermieter Nikos (der im Souterrain unter der Villa wohnt) mehrmals in der Woche sehr früh morgens und sehr leise gesäubert wird. Die Vermieter waren unglaublich freundlich und sichtlich bemüht, dass wir zufrieden sind und einen sorgenfreien Urlaub verleben. Trotz der schwierigen Kommunikation (wir sprechen kein griechisch und die Vermieter nichts anderes) wurden wir noch gleich nach der Ankunft zum nächsten Supermarkt gefahren (der Vermieter ist mit seinem Auto vorgefahren) und am nächsten Tag zu den nächstgelegenen schönen Stränden (in Bali, nicht mit der gleichnamigen großen Insel verwechselt werden sollte). Zweimal während unseres Aufenthaltes wurden uns Melonen, Zitronen und Orangen von der Farm der Familie als Geschenk gebracht und wir durften uns auf dem naheliegenden Grundstück selber Zitronen und Spitzpaprika holen. Der nächste Nachbarort (Panormo) hat auch zwei kleine Strände und Shops und Tavernen/Restaurants, hier waren wir regelmäßig Essen. Im Ort Skepasti selbst gibt es ein Cafe und einen Mini-Makrt, aber wir waren eigentlich immer in Panormo oder im Nachbarort Perama einkaufen. Am Ende des Pools ist ein Außengrill, den wir auch mehrmals benutzt haben. Neben dem Gríll ist eine Spüle mit Wasserhahn und unter der Spüle wird Grillkohle und Anzünder aufbewahrt. Am Tag nach unserer Grillnutzung war die verbrauchte Kohle bereits morgens aus dem Grill entfernt und unter der Spüle neue Kohle aufgefüllt. :-) Um den - wirklich privaten - Pool herum stehen reichlich Liegen und Sonnenschirme und speziell in der Corona-Zeit empfanden wir es als einen sehr gute Möglichkeit, sozial distanziert Urlaub zu verbringen. Der Strand von Bali schien uns für die Umstände schon zu belebt, obwohl er wirklich schön ist und bewirtschaftet wird. In ca. 25 Minuten Autofahrt läßt sich die größere Stadt Rethymno erreichen, dort gibt es im Prinzip alles, vor allem aber gute Metzgereien mit ansprechendem Grillgut. Einen Wochenmarkt gibt es auch. Alle Lebensmittel sind unfassbar günstig (eine Melone z.B. kostet 30 Ct das Kilo), für diverse Mittel-europäische Produkte (z. B. Nutella oder Freixenet-Sekt) zahlt man einen Aufpreis. Den schönsten und relativ leeren Strand fanden wir in Episkopi (10 Minuten hinter Rethymno, insgesamt also 35 Minuten von der Villa entfernt).

Accueil très chaleureux et vue exceptionnelle !

Merci à Nikos et sa femme de nous avoir aussi bien accueilli et d’avoir pris autant soin de nous! La maison est vraiment belle et la piscine est l’atout principal de cette maison. La vue que nous avions depuis les différentes terrasses était juste magnifique , surtout pendant le coucher de soleil. Une voiture n’est pas indispensable mais c’est beaucoup mieux d’en avoir une si vous voulez visiter, aller à la mer et même pour les courses mais heureusement , Nikos nous accompagnés plusieurs fois faire les courses avec grand plaisir! Un autre petit inconvénient c’est que si vous partez à 10, la maison est trop petite et on se marche vite les uns sur les autres mais pour 8 personnes c’est vraiment bien.

Fantastic property with amazing hosts

Stayed here for 3 weeks, couldn’t fault the property or hosts! The villa is immaculate both inside and out, we were 2 families with teenagers and it met all of our requirements! The nearest village of Panormo is quaint with beautiful restaurants, tavernas and shops and of course beaches, very underrated but a hidden gem and we spent most of our evenings here. Would not hesitate in recommending this villa, can’t wait to get back! Thank you Nikos and Maria!

Fantastic place to stay

Lovely villa and location would most definitely recommend to others. Owners Maria and Nikos are incredibly friendly and helpful, bringing us fresh tomatoes and fruit from their daughters farm on a regular basis. Maria even made us a big cake and a huge moussaka during the fortnight - turning up on a morning with a tray of food !! If you're looking for a nice quiet place to chill in Crete, this is the place. And don't miss the various delivery vans that stop out the front gate every morning - selling bread, fruit etc.

Perfect Holiday

Absolutly perfect stay. The Villa is very nice, clean and gives enough room for everybody and the pool is amazing. We definitly enjoyed our stay. To be flexible I would recommend a car. Panormo is a nearby village (small), with a nice family beach and good restaurants and some shopping possibilities. Our hosts (Nikos and Eleni) were very caring and friendly. They made our holiday perfect.

Stunning rural location

Cannot recommend the Villa highly enough. Nikos and Maria went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing Greek experience, sharing local knowledge and their home grown olive oil, fruit and cake. The pool was immaculate and continually cleaned. We made great use of the BBQ and Nikos cleaned it everyday and replaced the charcoal before we had even woken up. If you are wanting to explore there is a bus but would recommend a car if staying for longer than a week. The local people couldn’t have been more hospitable. Skepasti is truly a rural gem and if your looking for a break from the busy tourist areas then definitely stay here.
