What a special cottage to experience. We were welcomed with treats, written greetings and gracious amenities. Also the lake front view and outdoor fun was great! WE FELT AT HOME, thank you Correne and Dave.
We very much enjoyed this cute and cozy lake house. The views, the fishing and the clean and comfortable home made our family getaway very relaxing and enjoyable. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the neighborhood was quiet and the home had all we needed to have a wonderful time.
This is the second time we stayed at this lakefront escape (first time was 2023). My family and I absolutely love it. It is quiet and the view of the lake is stunning. It is very hard to impress teen boys and when they said “best vacation ever”- we knew we did something right. My family are big with fishing and kayak so this property was perfect for us. The property itself has everything you need- I cooked almost every single night. We also ventured out to Ender Forest Park and enjoyed the hike and waterfalls (and it’s FREE). We also have to visit the old mill pond a mile down the road and it has a general store, antique and everything Christmas. The property is also very close to six flags Agawam. It was the original reason why we booked it but ended up only going there once this trip and stayed at the property for the most part kayaking and fishing (catch & release). The owners were extremely accessible and helpful throughout our stay. As much as I want to gatekeep this place- I want to share our experience with families who love peaceful quiet and relaxing lakefront retreat. Yes- there’s 70 steps to the property and that is very clear from the start but for us it’s worth it. If climbing up and down is an issue- then maybe this is not for you but if you want extra leg workout while on vacation- it’s amazing lol. It’s all about balance, right? Thank you Dave and Family for hosting us again
My daughter and I enjoyed this charming lake house with such an extraordinary view!! It was clean, cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. We were greeted by a lovely and thoughtful welcome package that contained a delicious pancake mix and syrup which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was very much appreciated as we got in late at night without breakfast food with us for the next morning. We enjoyed the convenient location and would not hesitate to stay again were it not for the exceptionally long and inconvenient staircase which was rather stressful for us. I had booked this home before any reviews were published so I had no idea about the 70 stairs in total. I do think Evolve should be much clearer and more detailed in their description so prospective renters can make an informed decision if this is the right rental for them given the unusual amount of stairs. It was very stressful going down the stairs at night, in the rain and carrying up suitcases. I would still recommend this house as the view is really magnificent and it makes for a very special, peaceful stay but renters do need to be aware and okay with 70 stairs. I would highly recommend bringing a flashlight as well. The contact person, Marilyn was lovely. I had reached out to her prior to and during my stay and she was very kind and responsive. Were it not for the stairs, I would happily give the rental 5 stars- it is a special property and we enjoyed the house itself and the very much. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your lovely home, Pam and Lexie

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Too small with crazy neighbors.
I knew this place was small but it was much smaller than I thought it would be. They said there would AC, there was no AC.
The parking situation is a disaster, which they don't tell you about until you book it. You have to walk down a hill of 70 plus steps to get to the place. The neighbors out of their mind, one of them threatened someone in our group with a shotgun. I would not recommend this property.
If you're looking for a sweet house, on a lake, away from all of the congestion, this is the perfect place for you!
My husband and I took out the kayaks and went for a beautiful ride on the lake. So peaceful.
We ended up driving into Springfield for dinner and the casino which was only 30 min away.
Thank you for sharing your home!!

Nice View and Good Location on the Lake
Our family enjoyed our time at this rental. We stayed here for two nights. It's a very quaint, clean and nicely decorated cabin. I missed the road entrance initially so know it is the dirt road :) There are 70 steps to walk down to the cabin (and back up to your car) but the view makes up for it. There is a railing to hold on to and a bench about halfway if you need to take a break. It is well stocked with pots/pans/plates/etc. to cook there. There are two air conditioners (master bedroom, living room) and a box fan we used in the 2nd bedroom. The towels are in the master bedroom closet. There are a variety of board games (1st floor) and a wii in the basement/lower level with a nice size TV. There is one bathroom so coordination is important if you have four guests. Check-in and check-out was easy. They sent us an email prior with all the information we needed to check-in/out. They also have a book on the table explaining where to eat, reminder of the wi-fi, restaurants they recommend and other important information which I truly appreciate! We didn't get a chance to check out the kayaks. This is a great location if you plan to attend the Big E--only 25 minutes away. My favorite was enjoying breakfast while overlooking the lake. They have a balcony with a table and chairs too. This truly is a great getaway. Thank you!

Great House
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. The kayaks were great and the house was very clean and well kept. The lake was great for swimming--the owners have cleared the area near their dock so you can walk out on sand/rocks (walk right in for little kids!). The kitchen was perfect for cooking and the dining table with views of the lake surrounding was fantastic. The house has great wifi (we had 7+ devices running and streamed Yankee games with no problem), amazing views, tons of windows and AC for when it is hot.
The area has lots to do including museums, hikes, peach picking, farms, etc. The restaurants are great and if you drive down to Simsbury you can access some of the top rated restaurants in the state.
The owners are very clear in their description that there are a lot of stairs--there are! It is quite a hike up to the car and down but the upside is that the walk to the lake is a couple short steps. The house is small--we had 4 kids and 2 adults so we used the basement and all the bedrooms. The couch only seats 3 and there is only 1 bathroom. Defiantly not a house for entertaining but can fit a family comfortably. We fit without any issue but it would have been more difficult if it was cold or bad weather.
Bottom line--This is a great small house right on a beautiful lake with great swimming, fishing and kayaking.

Home away from home
Very peaceful and beautiful spot right on Manitook Lake. Family of four with a guest (Grandpa) stayed here for about ten days at the end of July 2021.
Highlights:
-Cottage is beautiful inside, kitchen feels recently remodeled and includes all the appliances and necessities to make the stay comfortable and easy. Bathroom also felt recently renovated with a sizeable shower.
-Downstairs/basement finished area is great for kids when spending time inside, with large screen TV and electronic dartboard for fun.
-Selection of card and board games made time in the cabin fun for everyone
-The dock and area leading to the dock is set up nicely, with four Adirondack chairs, slate tiles in the ground for comfortable barefoot movement, and kayaks/paddles/life jackets all right nearby
-Sandy beach area next to and in front of dock was a comfortable place for small kids to swim and wade
-Lots of wildlife to discover around the lake, including turtles, herons, fish, and even a snake (the kids named the snake Jerry).
-Lake is sparsely populated and largely empty of people during our visit, with occasional kayakers and fishers seen from time to time. Stay was quiet and peaceful.
-Gas grill was used several times and the propane is included with the cottage, which was very nice.
-Stunning views of the lake all day from the main areas of the cottage.
-TVs had Chromecast built in, and our 4-yr old was navigating without assistance before we even finished unpacking.
-Bedrooms were good size and comfortable to sleep in, perfect for a family our size. Bedding was very comfortable with plenty of pillows.
-Local area of Granby is wonderful, with lots of great food options available. Nothing was more than a few minutes' drive away, including local and larger stores. People of Granby were all very nice and welcoming.
-Property manager and owner were excellent, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible, very quick to respond when questions came up.
The only notable drawback for us were the stairs. The cottage sits at the bottom of a slope that requires stairs to reach. There are 71 (we counted) stairs leading to the cottage from the two parking spots off Lakeside Drive. The stairs are sturdy and the climb is not steep, most people will not find it hard to make it up and down them. The only time it was truly cumbersome was unloading and loading upon arrival and checkout.
My family loved our time here and we had great fun seeking out wildlife on the kayaks, watching birds (especially a pair of herons that crisscrossed the lake from time to time), collecting cool rocks, and swimming near the dock. Most of our time was spent in the water, followed closely by playing games inside while we enjoyed the view. Truly a beautiful home away from home!
The location is great right on the water, kayaks were provided as well as bikes which offered plenty to keep you active and having fun, however if you are looking for piece and quiet you had that as well. Sunsets seen from the kayaks on the water was amazing and the sunrises from the deck and or picture window were beautiful as well, we had a great time.
This lake cottage is as beautiful as the pictures in the listing. Clean, just enough space to relax and enjoy the lake. Decks on the front and back of house all view lake. Perfect property - very tranquil and peaceful! Perfect to getaway and unwind. Beds were very comfy. Shower was super clean and big enough. Comfy outdoor chairs. Private dock into lake. Kids loved wii sports and smart TVs with Netflix and prime. If you are looking for a quiet lake getaway this is perfect.
Three days spent in this adorable cottage was a great way to start off the summer season. Easy access to fishing, kayaks and lake life! We’ve done several trips over the past year using Vrbo, and this was definitely the present match to keep ourselves and the kids entertained while still finding time to relax.
Great house Beautiful location very private n quiet. Lake is somewhat private so not lot of boats only few residents have them. Awsome setup had all you need plus. Will definitely return. Thanks so much. Marc n Debby
