Good for large group sleeping but not for kids and hanging out
We had a large group in for our wedding so rented both homes. The common areas are too small for # of people the house accommodates. Small porch at top of steep stairs with no gate and steep stairs up to 3 rooms upstairs made us nervous with little ones. First floor has a smaller bdrm w/full bath but no closet or any place for clothes. Kitchen is small and lacks Small dining table w/4chairs, 3-4 barstools, large sofa & 2 chairs in a small space. Kitchen could use more general supplies such as baking pans and mixing bowls. Wine opener was broken. There were a few coffee pods and individual creamers that were so old they were solid inside. I don't expect to be supplied with these things but I'd old - throw it out. The oyster house was clean but the floors in the pearl house were very dirty. There were no extra linens or blankets and only two towels per bathroom. Overall it is a decent place to stay for sleeping but putting in the extras would make it much better.for a large group to enjoy the space. Being December - we didn't use the outdoor area so cannot provide a review on that. It is not close to the beach but we weren't there for that. Public beaches and anything else in Galveston is just a short drive though. Quiet neighborhood and close to stores.
