Softball Tournaments, Vacation, Fishing Trip

We loved this property and would definitely stay there again. The property manager (Chris) was great and easy to work with. The condo was nice and clean, and had plenty of room. And a short drive, to the softball fields, and everything. Also, walking distance to restaurants and family fun activities. We even stayed an extra night, called Chris, and took care of that with ease. Another plus, when u parked your car in the parking garage, the front door to your condo, was right there. Just a few steps, no long walk. The pools, the beach, the views, and location were excellent. They even have a grilling area, which we took advantage of. Perfect for our family!!!

Great stay, family friendly

Our accommodations were great! The place is super family friendly. We stayed gulf side and our room was more spacious than I thought it would be from the pictures. Everything was clean, with the exception of the floors could use a good scrub. Nice, big pools and beautiful landscaping. Quick walk to the bayside for the lazy river and more pools. Quick and easy access to the beach! Pier within walking distance is nice. Lots of marine life to see from there. Management was helpful, quick to respond, and easy to communicate with. Rent the chairs with premium seating for the week if you plan to sit out on the beach, worth it.

Perfect Vacation

This location is fabulous! Close to everything! We had a great stay! The view is beautiful and the parking is very close to the room! Very simple walk to the beach and the pool! The condo is very spacious and has nice size bathrooms. The balcony is much bigger in person!! We will be booking here next year! :)

Nice place

Overall our stay was good. It was comfortable and had what we needed. We misunderstood and thought it came with a beach umbrella and chair. We had to purchase that separate from all of the other cost. The host(s) were very prompt replying to my questions and messages. The tv's had issues with cable connections. Things weren't connected correctly, too many people messing with it in my opinion. My husband and brother-in-law were able to fix it. The floors are dirty! I know there is sand tracked in constantly, but the cleaning crew needs to steam mop the floors. As soon as we got there and walked across the floor bare footed, our feet were dirty. I wore flip flops constantly after day one. There was a Swiffer wet jet in the closet (we didn't use it). I assume that is all the cleaning people use on the floors. It isn't enough. With all of this said, nothing was a deal breaker. We were comfortable and had what we needed to enjoy our week at the beach.

Family trip and beach wedding

Wonderful in every way. The only reason I gave an overall rating of 4 stars is because a few electrical outlets didn’t work and the ceiling light in one of the bedrooms didn’t work. I didn’t reach out for service from the owner because we were able to make do just fine. I only mention it to make the owner aware in case they’d like to address the problem. Otherwise, would highly recommend this condo.

Great location and property

We love the Destin West resort. This property was perfect for our family. The resort is very clean and kid friendly. You can walk to the boardwalk and pier. The beach is great. We will be back!

Nice but needs work

We opted for this condo because it fit our needs room wise, it was a bit more expensive but it appeared nicer than others we had looked at. We did discover that the master bed was full of sand so it was obviously not changed. Lots of the decor in the room was broken. The toilet paper holder in secondary bathroom looks like it’s been broken for quite some time. Upper bunk didn’t have all the sheets needed. Dishwasher wanted to fall forward to to missing counter screws. Pillows looked about 10 yrs old, brown and yellow. Lots of extra pillows in closet but no pillow cases for them provided. Phone chargers fell out of pretty much all the outlets. They did come and provide extra linens when mentioned we needed them but not until the next morning. TVs in all rooms but not all of them worked. So other than all of that our stay was fine. I feel a little more attention to detail for the cost would have been a better stay, or lower price. I did expect it to be much nicer.

Best Pier for viewing wildlife

Four adults and one child vacationed in 414 DWGS. We enjoyed the pool and ocean view from our balcony. It was my grand niece's first ocean visit and she thought we should stay forever. We loved the pier and did the walk twice. Great seeing all the sharks, dolphins, and sea turtles, as well as all the friendly fishermen who kindly share their catch for a four year old to enjoy. My husband has to use a walker and numerous people offered assistance in getting him into the pool and out. Sometimes, he would sit on a chair and I couldn't get him back up by myself, someone always stopped and offered assistance. I was also able to rearrange the furniture in the living room to accommodate his walker and the loveseat in front of the patio door so he could see the ocean and still be in AC. My niece and grand niece loved the cannonball man and the four o'clock jump.

Perfect Family Getaway at Destin Emerald Coast

Great, spacious condo for a family getaway at the Emerald Coast. Walking distance to the beach and access to multiple pools (including lazy river), car parking garage and small fitness gym (a bit dated but meet the need). Easy check in/out. All in the family enjoyed (seniors, toddlers and adults included). Thank you for the memories.

Destin West Nice!

Our stay at The Destin West was very nice and was a convenient location. We could walk to eat and activities. Loved the bay side and the gulf side options. Would be nice if more pools were heated during Springtime. Room had all required necessities and management was quick to respond to any questions/issues.

Spring Break Fun

The condo was clean and had a wonderful view. It was easy to walk to nearby restaurants, shopping and putt-putt! Our family had everything we needed in the condo. Highly recommend!

We visit a beach FL every year for our family trip & not only was Okaloosa Island amazing but the hotel, location & staff were great! We have already discussed coming back & haven’t even made it home yet;) This booking will not disappoint!

Great vacation!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Great communication with our host Chris and his team. The view from the deck was amazing, the kitchen appliances worked great (only suggestion is to deep clean the fridge water dispenser - we are pretty picky so we bought bottled water) and having a Ninja blender was a pleasant surprise. The dryer seemed like it might be on its last legs as the heating element was spotty, but that wasn’t a huge deal for us - we were thankful to be able to clean our laundry before going home. The condo itself was really spacious and more than enough room for the two of us and one of our kids. Plenty of seating and it was nice and quiet at night. The location could not be beat - the whole resort was fantastic, we loved how close we were to the beach, and the closest pool and hot tub were largely quiet and peaceful. This unit really is in the best building. Reliable and fast elevators, but also not so high we couldn’t use the stairs. The host had the unit organized with the wristbands and parking passes easy to find. Check in and out was great and easy. The only regret we have is not staying longer! I hope to come back here soon with our whole family for another vacation.

Wonderful Stay

We stayed for 4 nights in early May. The condo was clean and had great views. The 3rd bedroom is very small for adults, but would be great for a kids room. It would be nice to be able to get into the condo early if the cleaning is complete. Also, a full length mirror in the master bedroom would be a good thing to add. We are planning to return next May for the same music festival and we would rent this condo again.

Lovely location

We love Destin west! We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the willingness and quick response from the manager when we had questions. You can’t beat the view or the quiet but resort like atmosphere. Providing soaps was a nice thoughtful touch. Thanks so much!

We loved this condo!!

We were extremely pleased with this condo. The 2 bedrooms with bathrooms attached and a kid room is a perfect set up for two couples with two kids. The furniture was comfortable. We loved the closets and hooks all over. The decorating was cute. The washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful. The view was beautiful. We loved being beach side!! The free attached parking was very convenient. The location is great with great restaurants in very short walking distance. Our kids loved the Lazy River and heated pool on the other side. The pool and hot tub on our side was nice. Lots of pools all over the complex. The owner was easy to talk to and responded immediately when we called him about a broken shower head. The only negative is that the beach was extremely crowded. But we were there during spring break.

Okaloosa Beach 2021

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the month of February 2021. The unit is well equipped with appliances, cooking utensils and even has a food processor, a crock pot and 2 coffee makers including a Keurig, which we didn't expect. My wife loved soap dispensers in the bathroom and kitchen and the quality of the appliances. The unit could use a light fixture over the dining table. Chris, the Property Manager, was very responsive especially when we had a hot water supply issue early in our stay. The building is well maintained. In fact the HOA is completely repainting the exterior of the building. The 4th floor location on the Gulf side of the building made for many great days of viewing the beach and Gulf. The deck is off of both the living area and the master bedroom and is nicely equipped with 4 comfortable chairs, a lounge chair and a table so that we could enjoy many meals on the deck. Since the main pool isn't heated in the winter it was great to have the smaller heated pool and the large spa. If you come in the off season there are no chair rentals on the beach until March 1st so we had to buy chairs at Walmart. The beach is wonderful soft white sand and the Gulf is a marvelous site with the water changing colors as the sun moves over it. Great for young kids because there are essentially no waves to speak of and you can walk probably 100 yards out into the shallow Gulf. The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes over a wooden bridge which has seating if you don't want to walk the sand. This was a big feature with seniors who have difficulty walking on the sand. Lots of grocery shopping close by. Plenty of restaurants and Destin is about 5 miles east with tons more restaurants and shopping. The big downside for us was the wifi/internet service which is, at best, marginal. It comes and goes randomly and is not password protected so take your mobile hot spot and expect to use it a lot. All in all we loved our month and would return again.

Excellent location, but dirty

Overall we had a great time. The resort is beautiful and the view was amazing. The condo had a layer of sand on the tile floors and if you walked barefoot, your feet turned black. The grout was dirty. This probably wasn't a one time we forgot to clean the floor thing. To be fair, I mentioned the floors to our host at checkout. He assured me that if I would have told him on checking, he would have sent someone to steam clean. Decor was good, but things just didn't look luxurious. Nails in the walls with nothing hanging on them. Nothing special, but everything was pleasant. Second bedroom had a bed that sounded like it was falling apart. Our friends couldn't rollover without us hearing. Master bed was good, not great. Pillows were terrible and left me with a sore neck that worsened each night. No dresser in the master to unpack into. There is a walk in closet. 10 hangers, wireracks and hooks. Small efforts can have huge impacts. Would definitely stay at the resort again. Only complaint is that all the pools were cold and they advertise them as heated. Hot tubs were way hot, 104-105. Too hot for even the lightest sunburn.
