I had an absolutely wonderful experience during my stay at Sonesta. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The check-in process was smooth, and my room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Sonesta exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ft. Mixed feelings... I'm giving this place a mixed review. The check in time is 4 o'clock and I came at 3:30. The gentleman at the front desk told me my room wasn't ready, but would be at four. I head out to run an errand and came back in an hour, and the room still wasn't ready. The lady (now at the desk) checked and checked and checked some more and finally told me they just wasn't anything available. She said the housekeeping staff was low. And once again. I headed out and came back a little after six. Again she looked and looked and finally found me a room. As a traveler who had been traveling all day, this was tiring. Granted she did hold my suitcase for me, but I had also bought a few groceries since this is a kitchenette. Next, I decided to cook something since I'm in a kitchenette: one of the burners never did heat up. The other one did great in fact, I burnt my food. Furthermore, the lighting; just seems dingy and gloomy in here. The lighting is pretty poor. Even with the windows open and the sun shining. The bed is really comfortable! That's a plus. The breakfast is pretty good for a hotel. Sausages and eggs and yogurt; the typical breakfast fair. But the lady who manages it at least changes things up a bit. One morning she actually had tortillas and fresh salsa. Decent coffee with real half-and-half provided. The gym is doable. Except there's absolutely no towels or Handi wipes to clean the machines. There is a free laundromat. Several of the machines are down;

Noisy and charged credit card when should have.

It was 1 night. There was very noisy people in the room across the corridor. Sounded like they were having a party. I called reception and then they turned the music down. When I checked out the computer was down and I ended up getting charged the deposit which should have been returned. It took for me to claim it back from my credit card. Multiple phone calls and emails. This shouldn’t have happened. Always make sure you have a checkout bill. I’m very disappointed with Sonesta.

Check in was easy and fast. The issue came after we got to the room. I booked 1 king bed room and was given 2 queen so I went back downstairs to get switched to the correct room. When I got back to the front desk to clear up the mix up, I was informed that my reservation had been changed by the hotel because they had no more king beds. When I asked why I was not informed beforehand so I could have made other arrangements, I was told that when the room booked are sold out, they automatically switch you rooms without notice. I feel that this is incredibly underhanded because what I received was not what Ipaid for. When I had no choice but to accept what I was given and go back to the room, my wife had found a razor guard still in the shower (from the previous resident) and also a hair wad wrapped around a hair tie on the middle of the bathroom floor. I've stayed at this hotel 1 week out of every 3 months for the last 4 years, even in the resent for work and I'm not sure if they got a new cleaning staff or what, but this room was gross as if the bed was made and they moved on to the next. The next morning, upon check out, cleaning staff was leaning on her cart texting and talking on her phone as 2 dead roaches were literally 2 feet from her cart. Between the room switch without notice, lack of room cleanliness, and Laxidasical staff, this will most likely be my last stay here. Dont know how it went down so quickly.

I had another negative experience staying at that hotel. Some of the people at the front desk are very rude. One tall man for example, hung up on me twice during phone conversations just trying to get service. How can someone be so incompetent? The man has very poor phone manners. I requested a room change with two beds to accommodate my family which became a nightmare. I was transferred to a room 2 bed that wasn’t clean. There was human hair in the bathtub and trash on the counter. When I protested and requested to move back to the room I was originally, and a man told me that wasn’t possible blah blah blah blah…. Some workers from housekeeping were given me dirty look in the hallways/breakfast area as everything seemed to become so dramatic, because management revealed my name to the workers as the guest who complained about poor service. That was very unprofessional.
