Monastery 17 is a beautiful top floor apartment , overlooking Loch Ness , just perfect for monster spotting
Sleeps up to 7 with 2 bedrooms , a sofa bed in the lounge and a fold out chair with 2 bathrooms , All linen included

The main bathroom is the star of the show , As you can bath overlooking Loch Ness , it has the largest window on site for the most spectacular view . Simply Breathtaking

There is also free wi-fi and BT Vision in the apartment with Netflix films

The Kitchen is very compact but has everything you should need, including a cooker & hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer etc.

A point to note : due to the history nature of the building , there is no lift , And being on the top floor, there are a number of steps , but well worth it !

Perfect stay at a gorgeous apartment. The views are amazing and the property is beautifully maintained. The check in process was so nice, the owners are lovely and have great knowledge. Highly recommend, just pack lightSince there are no elevators.

Clairement, je n’ai jamais été dans un hébergement aussi INCROYABLE... La vue était absolument magnifique, et n’avait d’égale que la quantité d'équipements du monastère : piscine sous les voutes avec sauna et hammam quasi privés (max. 10 personnes), court de tennis avec balles et raquettes (certes, bien usées), living-room collectif façon country club avec billard XXL, tennis de table, équipement de croquet, cloître et coursives dignes de Poudlard, tout cela dans un petit village ultra coquet, à 5 minutes à pied d’un salon de thé face aux ecluses que les enfants ont adoré... je suis ravie de ce séjour! L'appartement est grand, spacieux, confortable avec de la moquette épaisse et moelleuse, bien équipé (frigo, congélateur, micro-ondes, four, lave-vaisselle, machine à laver, bouilloire, grille-pain... ne manquait que, étonnamment, le sèche-cheveux!).Seuls bémols : la literie est à revoir, notamment celle du canapé-lit du salon, et les huisseries en simple vitrage sont très loin d'être jointives –je dirais que c’est largement compensé par le très bon chauffage de l'appartement et les rideaux installés, mais cela peut occasionner de légers courants d’air qui personnellement ne m’ont pas dérangée.Le vrai plus est la somme d'informations envoyée par l'hôte en amont, très utile à la préparation du voyage.Bref, pour moi un hébergement 5 étoiles pour lequel je n’ai à ce jour jamais vu d’équivalent dans ma gamme de prix habituelle !

It was perfect. Could not habe imagined a better place to stay. Being able to look out on Loch Ness every morning when bathing was an amazing experience. Location to walk around town was excellent.

The property was everything it promised! Views of the loch were exceptional. The kitchen and living area was welcoming, and we cooked several meals together. Made use of the swimming pool, which was outstanding! Would have liked to have had pool towels and or robes in the unit for use at the pool. Would’ve liked to have had some extra trash bags as we took out our own trash but had no trash bags to replace. Loved the charm of the whole property, walked all around on the trails. It is well manicured and maintained. Very clean and obviously well taken care of. Overall, we were very pleased with the property and would definitely stay there again.

I had a fun stay at the monastery in Fort Augustus along with my wife and 3 kids. The property itself is beautiful and the activities for the kids were exactly what we came for. Whether it's spending time at the pool/sauna/steam room or playing chess in the courtyard. The apartment was well furnished and fit all of us well. The Spar in town allows you to pick up food (more than just necessities). Great communication with the team who run the property leading up to our arrival and then again at our departure.

Unique and wonderful

We had a wonderful time at the Abbey. The host and staff were so accommodating, adjusting their schedule due to our delays and highly responsive. The views were wonderful and our three boys loved playing chess in the courtyard and wandering the grounds. A great location for excursions to Inverness, Ullapool, Fort Williams, or to just relax. Wonderful cafe nearby at the lochs. Very memorable trip and would come again.

The location and accommodations were fantastic! Our biggest concern, the stairs, was a nonissue, and we are all seniors. I would stay in the monastery again, should I be lucky enough to return to Scotland.

A Vacation to Remember

This was the perfect spot for us. Located right on Loch Ness, this beautiful and stunning property was peaceful, clean, and quiet. Located about 45-50 minutes from Inverness, the Monastery was situated in a gorgeous town with some shops and restaurants.

Unique Holiday Experience

Beautiful location and amazing place. 72 stairs to our apartment was not really identified ( we knew there were some!!!!) The apartment had adequate facilities for our stay but none of the little extras some places have had in the pantry cupboard. Our promised Scottish biscuits were not shortbread but sticky marshmallow and chocolate. Well heated. Location fantastic for all we came to see in the area.

Not great, but location was what we needed.

While the building and surroundings were so cool and beautiful the actual sleeping unit was disappointing. The beds/matresses are super uncomfortable and not clean. The pull out couch was broken and dirty. The linens were not clean and had staines. Would not stay again.

This property is amazing! Yes, there's steps, but it's worth it! The view of the loch on one side, and the abbey on the other are picturesque! The flat is well appointed and comfortable; our group of four had plenty of room.
