While it looks adorable...it could be SO MUCH BETTER. The food was AWEFUL. If they had a real chef and wait staff, then maybe people would eat there. The property sits on a very busy train route, where you hear cargo trains traveling through the evening. The dirt road to the cabooses were unkept, full of potholes. They should maintain these roads better for their guests. The balcony chair was thrown off the terrace. (#1 - weird, #2, there was only one seat for us to sit on.) While I had all these issues, they were quick to refund us for our stay so we were greatly appreciative. It's a shame, the place could be so good...but it just doesn't have the chops to be professional. Whoever the top management is, either doesn't visit this property, or they are clueless in the hospitality industry.

Too many trains

While the charm of the railroad cars was interesting our room was in the main lodge. Second floor, no elevator. Room had no air conditioning and no TV. Didn’t realize that trains went by 24 hrs a day. And they are long, 100+ cars each. Now I know why they give out ear plugs at the front desk. The place smelled musty and like train fuel exhaust. We booked two days there but left after 1 night. Wasn’t worth the cost. The lodge itself is cute and the food at the restaurant was good and the service was excellent.

Nice friendly staff and good onsite restaurant. The noise from train is bothersome. the hotel is desperate need of double pane glass window for sound proof, honestly its a bit shocking to see this recent renovated property still uses single glass when noise is a major concern. Not only train noises but i can hear ppl's phone chatting outside on the ground from the 3rd flr. I was given a room on the ground flr on the rail track side in the main building initially but the noise and viberation from train passing was too much, we asked to switch to a room on the otherside, given a smaller room on the 3rd flr, was able to sleep thru the night. Double pane glass in all rooms would have helped. Definitely avoid ground flr track side if you do not like noise.

Positive, next to train tracks, hubby loved it. Toiletries for shower on shelf over toilet, pump bottles. Kettle had leftover water in it but fast heat up. Outside deck furniture, rails and area with lots of old drink rings, thick dust. Food good, small selection. Diesel engine next door idling entire stay. Good people and then there was Tianna, fantastic! They are trying too hard to be boutique in a wonderful antique building. Take a breath, relax and we'd love to come back. Looove the area.

The Loge folks did a wonderful job keeping the flavor of the original Isaak Walton Inn but added nice updates. Be prepared, there is no regular cell service in the area but Loge has excellent WIFI.

Big change

It certainly was different than our past stays when it was Izzac Walton. Very limited staff . Fireplace out of service in lodge, day of no hot water in room, restaurant menu and food not nearly as good as before, very poor draft beer and can beer selection. Trails were groomed nicley except the tracks were so far to the edge of road it made some areas a bit dangerous for falls. The river trail was no longer present to ski on unfortunately On a good note room remodel was greatly needed and nice but our microwave was near the floor on the shelf. Rooms not occupied had doors open with unmade beds yet to be cleaned for a day or more. Hardly any guests were there which should be concerning for you. I am affraid if you do not make some changes business is going to suffer

LOGE Perfection!

My first time staying at a LOGE Hotel and I will definitely book with this brand again in the future. The location in the lower Montana Rockies was beautiful. Love the train history and the new updates and recent renovation without taking away from the history. Room is spacious and bed is comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful and the complimentary snow shoes allowed me to experience a different but equally beautiful groomed trail every day. If you decided to stay inside the hotel at the inn vs. one of the cabins or in a caboose, know that there will be some background noise from the guests during peak hours in the lounge but it didn’t bother me. Most people respect the quiet hours after 10pm. The bar downstairs does get a bit lively on the weekends. Restaurant was also quite good. I had Burgers, curry and tacos. All delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again myself.
Trail Map. All trials are well marked with maps at each junction.
