Log home with great views close to town and ski resort

3 level log home , Watch the Durango & Silverton train go by, look north to the needles mountains, open floor plan with large kitchen with bar seating three, dining ,living area, with large windows, and outdoor decks. Tv room, 20min. To ski area, 7mi. To town. Just off hwy550 . There are two queen beds in separate rooms. Master is on the upper loft level with the second queen on the lower level ( very private) and two bunk beds with full beds on the bases and twin uppers. One of these bunk beds has a twin trundle underneath. These two bunk bed rooms are separated by a full bathroom. Summer months offer plenty of open 10 x 42 deck space with natural gas Weber grille, patio furniture includes table that seats six, lounge area with swivel rockers and couch. Entrance to the home is from the lower parking area up the log stairs on the north side to the 8 x 44 covered porch. Winter is no problem with the in-floor heating system on all levels. Back yard is fenced for up to two medium sized dogs.

The views were wonderful the shopping checked the box. The proximity to go to Silverton and Ouray were very nice for a day trip. Our host was friendly and communicated great. The house was very comfortable and accommodating for our family of 10.

Host was responsive to questions, the house was super clean, spacious and well equipped. Our group of 11 nested in there just fine. One thing is a little quirky, the bathroom in the loft doesn’t have a full-height wall, so you can talk to people on the main floor from the shower. We thought it was funny but some might not so much. (There are two other bathrooms)

We had an awesome experience. The home was like a scene from a Christmas movie. The kitchen was fully furnished as all the rooms were. The home was very clean with all the amenities. Location was very accessible to downtown shopping as well as the Purgatory ski resort area. The host made us feel like family with a true vacation experience!

Such a beautiful home with plenty of space inside and out! The kitchen was fully equipped with all that was needed, and the cabin was comfortable and creatively decorated. Even spent some time swinging in the hammock and visiting the beautiful chicken coop! The host was responsive and kind. Would absolutely return!

Very nice, well-appointed, clean property in a great location just 2 minutes from downtown Durango. Property owners/managers were accessible and responsive. One note to future guests is that the main bedroom (with the King bed) is a loft and therefore not entirely private. The en suite bathroom to the lofted main bedroom is also open to the communal areas on the 1st and 2nd floors by way of the bathroom walls not going all the way to the ceiling. The bathroom sounds, therefore, may travel over the walls and into the communal areas. Finally, there is a large, uncovered window in the main bathroom that provides direct views into the master shower from the neighboring property. I would highly recommend the owbers install some sort of retractable shade as the natural light is great most of the time, but a bit unnerving while trying to shower at night.

Quite possibly the best stay we have ever experienced via Vrbo. The owners and property manager were amazing, very hospitable, gave some great advice on things to see and do in the area. The cabin is beautiful- pictures do it no justice at all! We will definitely be returning in the future if this property is still available.
