Our family had an amazing stay at Duck Rock! The house had everything we needed and more. The bunk room (two single and two double) worked well for our grandkids and the three baths were a real plus. The waterfront was shady until late afternoon with a sandy bottom, only a few rocks and no vegetation growth. There was a gentle slope into the water with about 4 ft at the end of the dock and 6-7 feet a little further out. Our grandkids caught many fish with nets and fishing lines. And one 2-3 lb wide mouth bass! The waterfront was supplied with a variety of “boats” ( perfect for discovering the island!), chairs, life jackets, float toys and even sand toys. Enjoyed the firepit at the beach under the shady trees as well as the one in the relatively flat yard. Plenty of seasoned firewood. The screened porch was enjoyed by the whole family. David as host was immediately responsive to any problem. We often have to go out and buy this or that for rental houses but we literally needed nothing by food. We would definitely come back if available!!!

The house was just as pictured. The amenities were as listed and all in working order. The screened in porch was a lovely sitting/reading area. The location on the lake is quiet and calm. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming. Perfect family reunion spot or family vacation with kids. We would definitely like to return.

Very nice

Water clean-great swimming. House beautiful and very clean-owner a delight to work with. However, the next door neighbor chewed us out about our dogs setting off his alarm but they were in the house while we were packing the car. He later admitted to accidentally setting off the alarm himself. Definately left a bad taste in my mouth. Certainly not the owner's fault.

Summer Vacation

We had a fantastic time! Duck Rock house is nicely laid out; we all had plenty of space and enjoyed morning coffee on the back porch. A great place to relax and visit with family. The winding path and separate rock stair options leading to the water adds to the natural beauty and charm. The variety of water toys kept everyone busy and we had everything we needed! Thank you for letting us enjoy your place!

Perfect Family Vacation

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duck Rock. The house has direct access to Merino Pond. You can walk directly into the water from the Sandy beach plus there’s a dock which extends a good bit into the pond. The shed down by the water held kyacks, body boards and all the life jackets and paddles you need. There are also some chairs to use on the beach or dock. There’s a great firepit just off the patio which gives you a great view of the water. The screened in porch was great. Views of the water with no bugs. The house was layed out perfect for our family size. Kids loved the video game in lower level Hosts are extremely responsive. I would highly recommend and look forward to a return stay

Hidden Gem

This property was excellent. Owner was highly responsive though we had no issues. Larger interior than pictures looked. Direction and info on site for operating tv, video game, air/heat, were perfect and thought out. Gnome pathway was a delight for 2 and 5 year old. Water/beach area and dock were great. Water toys and floats were excellent. Fire pit was a winner. The absolute best was the large screened porch where we spent all of our time. A bit of a walk to the beach for the seniors making it one trip a day but not a thought for everyone else. We’ll be back!

Wonderful Home!

We rented this home to celebrate Thanksgiving with my husbands mother. We picked her up everyday and she was able to move around in her wheel chair easily on the hardwood floors. The home was beautiful and immaculately clean and had great cookware and dishes. The view was excellent especially at sunset.We had a beautiful fire outside every evening. We would defiantly rent this house again.

Our stay

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The in person appearance was more spacious than the online pictures provided. The owner's water area had plenty of water goodies for my whole family to enjoy and use. The dock was perfect and great swimming, fishing and boating around the lake. Well kept secret for some family R&R and self contained. Anything you need for stores is pretty much within 10 minutes for all the basics. Thank you for the great week of memories (we had our son's 21st b'day week and celebrated at Whiskey Rocks and that was a great take all around too!)

Relaxing Retreat

Magnificent stay! I booked this property because it was far enough and close enough (1 hour away), so we didn't have to do heavy lifting travel with 4 kids and 3 adults. The home is just beautiful. There was plenty of space for all of us. Hands down we all loved the screened in porch that overlooks the lake, we spent most of our time on the porch. We enjoyed the lake as much as we did the porch and especially loved (the kids) all the lake "toys". We used many of the blow-up toys to lay around in the lake when we were tired of swimming and the paddle boards were a hit. We didn't get a chance to use the kayak (next time). The kids also liked the lower level with the movie and game room and video games. The kids also enjoyed seeing all the mini gnomes and constantly looked to find new ones. I loved the kitchen for sure, it was fully stocked and had plenty of room to cook even if there was more than one person. The bedrooms were so spacious and very nicely decorated. It was peacefully quiet all day and night, so it felt secluded even though it is a part of a neighborhood. Lastly, the hosts provide a book filled with very helpful information, directions for the items in the house, where to eat and grocery shop, fun things to do like going to get ice cream at the Ice Cream Pharm. We did find a small mall about 20 min away as well. Overall, I give it a 10 out of 10 and I plan to book this property again.

Duck Rock

Our week stay at Duck Rock was great. Not only was the house exactly as described, it exceeded expectations. You are close to anything you may need but feel like you are away from it all. The recommended restaurants: Empire Wok for sushi and Mike's Crunchies and Munchies for wings and pizza were excellent. Within a 30 minute drive, you can visit Tree House Brewery or Taylor Brooke Winery/Brewery. Lastly, swimming on the pond shouldn't be missed. Highly recommended VRBO location. Thank you David for allowing us to visit your home.
