It was a lovely place! The family uses it as their vacation home so they are quite protective over it. They also meticulously list and label everything in the house, which can be helpful for planning. I understand that trust is a two way street and was happy to provide the 1K deposit, few reminders, and even sign the contractual agreement. That being said, asking for a photo of my ID, a piece of mail as proof of address, a list of all guests with approximate ages, and being prompted to create an account for their website was a bit much. I was in town for a wedding with close friends who are all young professionals in their early-to-late 30s. Prying questions from the host leading up to our stay made it really hard to relax and fully enjoy our stay.

Great place for family reunion

Third Coast Hideaway is a beautiful and immaculately kept property in a great location. We were a group of 12 adults and 2 young kids (total, not all at the same time) from all over the US who stayed for a week of family reunion. The house was generously supplied with all that we needed, especially the kitchen. The location is close to beaches, restaurants, and shopping, but on a quiet residential street. Our only caveat would be for groups with active young children. We had two rambunctious 5 year olds and had to be especially attentive as the house has many lovely, but breakable or damage-able, decorations and features. For families with quieter or older kids, this is definitely the right place! And even with our energetic children, we were able to avoid disasters and had a great time.

Madison was a first-rate and very responsive host. Third Coast Hideaway was perfect for a getaway with friends with beautiful, but comfortable furnishings. The screened in back porch was our group's favorite spot for relaxing and enjoying meals. Madison provided all the comforts of home and then some, from a well-stocked kitchen to bicycles.... The location is perfect for walking and exploring Douglas and Saugatuck. I highly recommend.

Our group of college friends had a fantastic time staying here. The house was perfect and we had plenty of room for everyone to hang out together. The huge screened in porch was perfect for breakfast, afternoon card games, or cocktails. The owners truly care about the guests and even sent a package to my home filled with welcome information and attraction brochures. The Saugatuck area was wonderful. We enjoyed the dune buggy ride, Oval Beach, and the sunset cruise on the Star of Saugatuck. We also enjoyed our bike trip on the Bee Line Trail up to Holland, which is also charming. Our group travels together yearly, and this is one of our favorite properties. We especially loved how well stocked the kitchen was, and how there were labels on all the cupboards (so things go back in the right spot) and on all the electrical switches

Madison and Frank’s TCH was perfect. Way more than our family even needed! They thought of everything. Really. It was a treat to stay. Next time we want to bring a whole big group to take advantage of all the space and fun stuff!

Perfect location

This house in Douglas was the perfect amount of indoor and outdoor space to let our extended family hang out, but also get some private time. The location splits the difference between downtown Saugatuck and Oval Beach, so we could do practically any activity without going more than 10 minutes from the house!

A cozy, very clean home filled with extras!

The entry was very easy and the home was fully prepared for us. We enjoyed the games we found available for family fun. The location was great for a quick walk to the little city for shopping and dining. Everyone enjoyed their choice of one of the bedrooms. The home was completely filled with anything we could have needed. The cozy fireplace came on with a flick of a switch!! We can't wait to visit again in the summer!

Loved this home!

This home is absolutely beautiful and perfectly located. We enjoyed every loving detail in the beautiful surroundings and took morning walks to the downtown area, the river, Lake Michigan and various coffee shops. Our group loves to cook and eat and the house could not have been better equipped. Great hospitality. Madison was always available by phone to answer questions. Loved it!

Relaxing, quiet, Fun getaway!!!!

The property was absolutely beautiful and fit our family of 9 perfectly! The basement was fun for the kids to hang out and play games in. We loved the large table on the enclosed back patio for nights we cooked dinner and played card games. A very short walk to downtown Douglas where we ate at The Wild Dog, so delicious, and visited the small park with the kids a few times. A short drive or bike ride to Oval Beach and downtown Saugatuck for a lot of shopping and great restaurants. We ate at the Butler which was great and very family friendly. Loved having access to the Kayaks and Canoe as well! Madison and Frank were so welcoming into their home and very available to answer any questions we had. Would definitely visit again!! The only thing was the house did get very warm on the top floor on the hot days. A few family members moved to the basement to sleep, so having the extra space was nice!

What a wonderful house!! Perfect location. So clean. Very comfortable beds. Kitchen equipment was better than any place I’ve stayed. Highly recommend we had 4 couples for New Years and I’d go back for sure

Beautiful, well-equipped property

This house was extremely comfortable for our family of 8. The location made it easy to explore the area. And the house has the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a rental house. Thanks to the owners for taking so much pride in this house.

I cannot say enough good things!

The house is amazing. It is a beautiful living space, very roomy, and very comfortable. Amenities..tops! (Kayaks, bikes, kitchen wares, soft plush towels, soft sheets, comfortable beds) Location…tops! (Walk to Main St or Saugatuck which has greats restaurants and galleries…super quiet neighborhood, close to lake and a 7 minutes drive to beach) Owners…tops! (Communication was above and beyond…they even provided us with a listing of recommendations for restaurants etc) Our only negative…we had to leave! We should have booked longer!

Five Star Family Gathering

We chose Third Coast Hideaway to celebrate our 2020 missed Christmas, with family from Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Boston. This gorgeous, luxurious house was perfect from the beginning! A welcome basket awaited us with wonderful gifts from the Saugatuck/Douglas area. This state of the art home is immaculate and everything you could ever need is there from plush towels and sumptuous beds to a gourmet kitchen. The screened in porch was our family hub and really gave us a getaway feel. Our host Madison was attentive to all of our needs and made sure any information from things to do, to great eateries was at our fingertips. We shared memorable meals, family sing-a-longs and lots of laughs together. This home made our trip!! Definitely a five star review!

TCH... Delightful Days in Douglas

TCH is perfection! The home is gorgeous, pristine, and stocked with everything one might need to feel truly at home. Madison and Frank are incredible! From the moment we began thinking about staying at TCH, they were welcoming, accomodating and helpful. No stones were left unturned in making sure we had whatever we needed, and the moment we pulled up we felt relieved and relaxed. Douglas and Saugatuck are great towns with so much to do, and it was so nice to live in the heart of it all, in a beautiful home that has so much heart. TCH was such a welcome respite from the monotony of being cooped up during this crazy time. We cannot wait to return!
