It is situated in a postcard like setting on four beautiful acres with a class A stocked trout stream that runs directly behind the cabin the stream. Elk Creek is rated as a second cleanest stream and all of North Carolina. If you are looking for a stream side cabin you will not find a better location anywhere. There is abundant wildlife including trout, deer, turkey, fox, beavers, and birds.

We stayed here for our anniversary, and it was everything we needed.The trout stream, the hot tub, the quiet… pure peace. One morning, a family of deer came through the field and crossed the stream while we were having coffee on the deck. And a blue heron fished for a while but like us, didn’t catch a thing… except a glimpse of heaven.You can tell the owners truly care. They’ve thought of everything...fire pit, firewood ready to go, and all the little details inside. Nothing felt like it was missing. This was the perfect place for us to slow down, breathe, enjoy each other and be grateful.The only small thing (and this is just me being 5 foot nothing ) is the shower is definitely made for someone taller.Its safe to say… this is officially our cabin now. We are already making plans for our next stay.

This is an amazing cabin! Beautiful inside and out. We did not realize that the cabin was on property with 3 other dwellings, but this did not change how much we loved our stay. Cannot wait to come back and experience this place in the Summer!

The cabin was really cute and had everything you would need. Host was very responsive to all of our questions. We wanted to ski, as cabin was close to Boone, but it was too warm and icy. Instead, we fished for trout and took long walks with the dogs.

Beautiful cabin ina peaceful setting just far enough from town. Well appointed and very clean. Everything you need to get away from it all. Enjoyed listening to the stream. Fish were biting close by. We would definitely stay again.

I gave it 4 stars not because of the cabin or the host. They were both exceptional. The 4 stars came from the road. Located approx 40 yards behind the the cabin.It was a 2 lane rock road that was in constant use. The traffic spewed up a fine ground up rock that penetrated everything. There were afternoons that we could not sit out back because of the dirt clouds ' kicked up ' by either contractor trucks, cement mixers, logging trucks.....I assume the constant daily traffic was caused by the Powder Horn development above us or developments farther fown the road.I think it would be only fair to include in the desc That this cabin is off a 2 lane rock road.Clayton Wilkes Wake Forest

Absolutely beautiful location overlooking the stream. Waking up to the sound of it and finishing the day around the fire pit made the days seem long and lazy. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room for two couples and a toddler. The master bedroom leads out to the back porch. We slept with the sliding glass door open and fell asleep to the sounds of nature. Kitchen was well stocked with everything to cook meals. Even had a crockpot and blender. We didn’t use the hot tub, but did run the fireplace since the weather was on the cooler side. Be sure to bring bug spray. Lots of mosquitoes and knats. Bring as much as you need via food and toiletries. Otherwise, be prepared to travel at least an hour to get to the nearest grocery store (Boone).No fish to catch, but we sure had fun trying. Bill, the owner, was great to deal with. Very patient with all my questions during our stay.

everything was GREAT loved the place. check in was fine.. kitchen all one needed.could use a blender small one but still great Showers were a little slick, put a towel down before stepping in. The porch is a great place to read and listen to the stream I loved it.

Relaxing creek get away

This cabin is located about 30-40min from Boone area. It’s on a beautiful creek with a well maintained yard. It’s located with 3 other cabins but still feels somewhat remote. The boys loved playing in creek and exploring. Very clean and great host for answering questions.
