False advertising

First off this thing says you can message the hotel if you have any questions and someone will be in contact with you within 24hrs... whelp that didn't happen. Should of known then! So we get there... no greeting, no cheerfulness- like a great customer service person should be. So we check into our room and it's okay... but these bugs come flying out of nowhere! Hated it! Then it's advertised that the hotel has a jacuzzi (BROKE), elevator (BROKE), spa (GONE)... I just didn't understand how this hotel was a 4 star at all!

Pros: friendly and courteous staff - comfortable rooms. Would recommend to friends/family with no hesitation.
Every staff member we made contact with was very courteous and helpful. Even though we only stayed one night we definitely will return for future vacations in Daytona. The standard king bed room was very nice, clean and included a two burner stove and refrigerator/freezer (and not a small box refrigerator). Prior reviews noted that the bathrooms were small -but that was not the case in our room. The bathroom was larger than most hotels we have stayed in. Overall a very good experience.

On the beach

Liked the hotel. It was updated, carpet was soiled. The bed was comfortable. It was convenient to everything and right on the beach.

Nice beach resort, if you want the beach

Pros: The ocean view was nice, as well as the beach access and amenities.
Cons: Better spacing in the room. You practically have to climb into the tub to open/close the bathroom door. Honor reservation requests.
Location: Tourist shops and restaurants within walking distance, or a short drive.
Overall experience was ok for a one night stay. Booked 2 rooms with matching amenities, and ended up with 2 different types of rooms, in separate buildings.

Condo on the beach

The condo had an outside door like a motel which wasn't a big deal but would rather have had one to an interior hallway. The hotel appears to have been renovated in most areas except the part in which we stayed. The space was nice as there was a fold out couch and two queen beds, made a lot of room for family of five. This was our first trip to Daytona as a family, it was nice but the area was a little more old and run down that what we are used to. Regardless, we had a good time and enjoyed the authentic restaurants and location to grocery store and drug store was perfect. Things tend to get a bit more wild on the weekend as people drive up and down the strip blowing their horns and revving their engines, lol.

beautiful beach

Pros: location, balcony, beach view and soft and comfortable beds
Cons: The eating facility
Location: the beach is beautiful, the pools are clean and warm, the is a small mall across the street and a Denny's for breakfast and lunch plus some shops
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 5 days. We had a room with a balcony which was great. The room was like a suite because it had a stand up frig, a microwave oven, dishes and cutlery. It also had a round table near the window and small balcony. The balcony was for standing only because it would not fit a chair. The bed was very comfortable and had lots of pillows. This hotel had a large pool surrounded with lounge chairs. In addition it had a smaller pool and another one with umbrella style waterfalls for children. The location was really good with a mall and a Denny's across the street. Parking was also very good. The sandy beach had soft sand and felt like cornstarch when you walked on it. You could bring your car onto the beach for as fee of $10.00. The only weakness was the hotel restaurant and snack area. I understand they are making a few changes in that area. The lobby staff were helpful and courteous.

Vacation stay

Pros: The location and the numerous pools!!!
Cons: The room was too small and not enough floor space!!
Location: Loved the shopping plaza across the street and numerous restaurants nearby!!
Stayed 2 nights to be close to Amtrak Train Station for return home!! Loved the oceanfront location and all the amenities!! However the room was kind of small and the stove top burner did not work. The toaster only worked on one side. Overall it was a nice stay!!!

Great on the beach, meh IN the hotel

First of all, we had a great time. The location is great, the beachfront view is beautiful and there was plenty to keep us busy with ocean, pools and hot tub. The suite was good sized and fit 3 adults and 2 kids well. However the pullout couch would not be adequate for an adult. The bathroom was terrible. Tiny. Had to stand in the tub or on top of the toilet to open the door after taking a shower. It was gross squatting next to the toilet to bathe the kids. It was only 6 inches from the toilet. If you just shower and don't have kids, you'll be fine. The kitchenette was adequate for our needs, cooktop was small and in the corner but worked well. Dishes, silverware, etc all there. Even dish soap and paper towels. Housekeeping missed our room the first day. They didn't leave enough towels the day they did come. But we were easily able to get them at the desk. There are 2 outdoor pools (one is for smokers) both are heated to a nice temp. The is a kiddie pool. These are nice. Indoors there is a room with a pool that is several degrees cooler and 2 hot tubs at different temps. The smell of chlorine is overwhelming after a short time. It's only a short trip to get outside, but requires passing through 2 doors and short hall, so no venting the smell. The dry sauna is nice and near to the hot tubs. The paint of the hot tubs is old and there is dark discoloration which could be dirt or mildew. It's gross either way. It needs to be painted. our trip was late April 2016.
