Out of town centre location with no taxi service available. Kitchen was not in use so no evening meal could be had at the hotel itself. The staff, singular, was friendly but basically one member of staff was having to cover all jobs from reception to bar staff.

Hotel was closed between 12-3pm. Unusual for a large chain hotel. We were not informed in advance. Seems like only 2 staff in the whole hotel.

The hotel is a bit of a walk to the centre and late taxis are difficult. Not many guests while we were there so found the bar shut and no staff at 10.30pm after arriving back from town. Continental breakfast was fine. Didn’t use the resterant as we eat with friends in town. Overall a good stay and fine.

Good choice

A historic area and inn with enough updating to be acceptably modern. Very nice staff. Good breakfast. Note - no elevator to 2nd floor where almost all rooms are. Would stay here again.

We have stayed here before and will stay again, it is a clean and comfortable hotel, with excellent food in their restaurant with a good continental breakfast. Rooms a little small but not a problem. Ideal location for touring the battlefields. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back here.

Lovely hotel. Only stayed one night but was very pleasant. Breakfast was very nice and unfortunately the restaurant was closed for an evening meal.

Comfortable stay

Hotel was clean and rooms were very comfortable. The lounge could do with an update. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Only downside was the restaurant was closed and only one place was open in town, but it was a Sunday.

Within easy reach of the city centre

Comfortable and roomy hotel in a quiet location. Onsite parking. Nice bar and restaurant, both worth a visit. Staff are very efficient and helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Would definitely use again when visiting this area.

Pleasant hotel

Sadly although the room was clean and tidy the overall feeling was that there was no atmosphere at the hotel. On what should have been their busiest weekend there were very few guests, the prices at the bar/restaurant were very expensive, the service was not great as we only saw 3 members of staff on during our whole stay and food and drink were forbidden in the room, but the restaurant was closed Sunday evening.
