Nausica House: Cosy renovated cottage, stunning views of Agni Bay

Walk down the hill to the village of Kavalaraina and you will immediately feel the village has changed little from the 1920's. The setting is peaceful, even more so of this little cottage which is tucked away and barely seen even from the centre of the village. The house is directed to south, with a magnificent view on to the Sea and the small bay of Agni between the green hills of the Landscape. The high-ceiling bedroom with the Skylight gives the guests space & comfort. Nausica house is a rare opportunity to experience real village life in such close proximity to the sea. The original stone oven (ognistra), the original chest of drawers, the crockery cabinet on the wall all give a bit of the history & offer sufficient comfort. Like the rest of the village, the views to Agni are interrupted. The fuchsia bougainvillea offers a bright contrast to the ocean blue. The cottage is only 400m walk to Agni bay & is ideal for couples wishing to explore the north east of Corfu & in particular walkers.
Please note that Nausica House is not suited to the less mobile as there are steps till the property and an indoor staircase.

Beautiful little cottage in a lovely bay

We loved our time here. Max and Hans were brilliant and were always available to send recommendations, the cottage is perfect for a couple and has stunning views over the bay. We will definitely be back soon!

Nausica House

Definitely cosy, but beautiful setting overlooking Agni Bay. Bathroom needs modernising but a great base to explore all the wonderful bays around northern Corfu. Better to have met Max at the property rather than diverting someway inland to do so - he would then have given us a much clearer outline of what the cottage is really like re. amenities and processes. Website needs to match what is actually in the place - we had to ask for a fan, hairdryer etc and Miranda is lovely but we had to ask her to clean and take rubbish away rather than her doing this on regular days. A lovely experience but still room for improvement.

I think the property description for our initial choice, the Nausica House, was not true to the property. Yes, a maisonette wth the bathroom on a different floor than the bedroom. It was connected with a narrow staircase and no place to hang your clothes. No word of the difficult exterior access. 40 steps down an uneven stone staircase. We said we could not stay, too inconvenient. The property managers were more than gracious and offered us a different, much more comfortable property for the same price. And kept checking to make sure we were comfortable all was well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage with absolutely amazing views. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Lovely little cottage with fantastic views of Agni Bay

We had a wonderful week at Nancy's cottage. It is a perfect space for two with a little terrace with really splendid views. Despite being mid September the weather was fantastic but the cottage did not feel over hot and we had no problem sleeping. There are two really good fans we only needed to use one of them for a comfortable nights sleep. Agni bay is lovely with three good taverna's we also hired a boat from here and had a lovely day discovering the coastline. This is a beautiful unspoilt part of Corfu very green and we imagine great for walking in the spring and autumn. Corfu town the old part was also really impressive next time we will visit at night you can get a bus there very easily. Nancy was lovely and communicated really well and Nikki the caretaker was charming. We would definitely recommend this property.

Gîte de charme dans un cadre exceptionnel

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Nausica House. La partie supérieure du gîte a été rénovée récemment avec goût, cuisine et salle de bains sont plus datés mais tout à fait fonctionnels. Le gîte dispose d'un balcon et d'une terrasse bien orientés offrant une vue exceptionnelle sur la baie d'Agni. Accès facile par la route côtière (que l'on entend très peu depuis le gîte situé en contrebas) depuis la ville de Corfou, et il est possible de se rendre à pied aux plages d'Agni et de Kalami ainsi qu'à plusieurs tavernes, la maison des écrivains Durrell, et Toula's, un excellent restaurant de poisson sur la plage d'Agni. Parfait pour un séjour en couple.

Ruhig mit wunderschönem Blick

Eine schöne, frisch renovierte Wohnung mit wunderbarem Blick auf die Buch von Agni. Die Einrichtung des Schlaf und Wohnbereichs hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Küche ist sehr einfach, soll aber bald erneuert werden. Auch im Schlafzimmer werden wohl noch ein paar Verdunkelungen nachgerüstet. Man ist in ca 10 min runter in die hübsche Bucht gelaufen. Ein versteckter Pfad führt in die Ruhige Nachbarbucht. Da die Wohnung am Hang liegt dauert der Aufstieg etwas länger. Ein Auto sollte man auf jeden Fall haben, da man fußläufig nur die Restaurants in der Bucht erreicht. Unser Ansprechpartner vor Ort, Max, war sehr symphatisch, freundlich und zuvorkommend, und hat wirklich tolle Tipps gegeben.

Un petit paradis - Little piece of heaven on earth

Logement très pittoresque, bien équipé, extrémement propre et jouissant d'une vue imprenable sur la baie d'Agni. La communication avec Nancy et les personnes chargées de l'entretien (irréprochable) sur place a été excellente (l'hospitalité grecque n'est pas un mythe), Bien pour deux adultes voire avec un enfant. Voiture (ou quad) indispensable et de bonnes jambes pour le retour de la plage à pied. Plages nombreuses aux environs (principalement galets). Location de bateaux chez Agniboats en bas, excellent accueil et bon matériel.

maison ancienne dominant Agni bay

une ancienne maison restaurée, des meubles anciens et une jolie décoration. Terrasse offrant une vue magnifique sur Agni Bay. beaucoup de charme (même si l'entrée réelle de la maison n'est pas celle présentée sur la photo de présentation de l'annonce, l'entrée est en contrebas, en descendant à gauche. le bâtiment présenté sur la photo ne fait pas partie de la location). très bons contacts par mail avec la propriétaire Nancy. Absente pendant notre séjour, des dames étaient chargées de "veiller sur nous". elles sont très gentilles, serviables et discrètes. La maison est propre et le ménage est fait régulièrement. Néanmoins, il y fait très chaud (pas de climatisation). Le seul ventilateur ne suffit pas à rafraîchir et son ronronnement est trop bruyant la nuit pour dormir. Le lit est un matelas posé sur une structure bois (moins confortable qu'un matelas sur un sommier). Beaucoup de marches pour accéder à la maison qui est sur deux niveaux (devant et derrière). Ne convient pas pour des personnes ayant des difficultés à se déplacer.
