NO HOT WATER!! Room door was not properly able to be locked. My son had to rig a system with hangers , chairs & an ironing board. If I was not exhausted I'd leave!! Can not wait to meet the GM in the morning

The first room we were in was bad. It smelled, the carpet was wet and the inside door handle was missing on the bathroom door. We didn’t ask to be moved until I saw a bug on the wall. Both front desk ladies were very nice and accommodating. Our second room still had a funky smell but it was better than the first, door wasn’t wet and there was a door handle. I did not see any bugs in that room. We were only there two nights

Had to clean the nightstand with a wash cloth because it had a sticky spill all over it. Lots of things missing from breakfast - no waffle batter on day 2, no forks/knives available, etc. Elevators & our hallway smelled like trash. Hard to find from road at night - sign was hidden by another property.

When we first checked in, we were given a room with two full beds when we had reserved a double queen room. When we arrived in the room, there was dog hair all over the beds, there was a massive stain on the comforter and there small bugs crawling around on the dresser and on the bed (they were not bed bugs). In addition, when we pulled the sheets down on one of the beds, there was a stain the size of my entire fist at the top of the comforter. We were given a new room upon request and we still were not given a room with queen sized beds. The room only came with 2 towels when we had a 4 person reservation and when we asked the front desk for additional towels in the morning, there were none available. We will never be staying at this hotel again.

We stayed at the Wingate while spending the weekend at Virginia Tech. The location was convenient, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and amenities within a reasonable distance of the hotel. The bed was comfortable, and the room itself met basic expectations for a short stay. However, the experience was let down by the front desk staff. On two separate occasions, no one was present at the front desk, and ringing the bell did not bring anyone out to assist. At one point, a staff member’s child was running up and down the halls and through the lobby on the tile floors in socks, which felt unprofessional and distracting. The pool was closed during our stay, which was disappointing as it had been one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The breakfast wasn’t great, but at least it was available and provided a few basic options to start the day. Overall, the location was convenient, but the lack of front desk professionalism and unavailable amenities made the stay less enjoyable than expected.

Property was clean and room was in good shape. We were told breakfast was between 7am and 10am. We got there at 9am and half the food pots were not refilled and nobody was attending the area.
