At first glance the place looks very nice and comforting and it was a very convenient location for my visit. My room smelled as if someone had spilled a bottle of Aqua Velvet on the floor. There was a NO bar or Restaurant as the website had stated. Most all the vending machines products were “sold out”. The staff was more than accommodating and very nice but this hotel was really only useful as a place to sleep.

Thank you for rating our property after your recent stay. We apologize for the lack of vending options in the hotel when we were sold out. There were however snacks and water available for purchase at the Front Desk. Our website does not advertise a bar/restaurant, only our cafe The Food Boutique that is open for breakfast and lunch. We hope that you will give our hotel another chance so that you can see why our guest love our hotel and you can leave with a better experience of our hotel. Camille R. Guest Experience Manager

Bad Recommendation from Travelocity

Pros: Location
Cons: Communicate when ALL on site dining / drinking options will be unavailable.
No lounge / restaurant / coffe shop avaialble on premises during 3 night stay. Under renovation and "random closings" due to independent contractor status.

The hotel has no amenities. We checked in at 9 pm after a long flight. There is no food available. OK. There are no snack machines. OK. They do not have a book of local eateries or delivery services in the room. OK. They have a small cafe that opens at 7:30 am. They decide not to open til 8. Overall, underwhelmed.

Thank you for reviewing our property after your recent stay, I am glad that you enjoyed our property overall but had issues with our dinning options. Unfortunately you arrived while our restaurant was being remodeled but hopefully you will return when they reopen in March of 2018 to be one of our first guests to experience our new and improved establishment. However within 1-3 blocks walking distance are Ricobene's, Carbon, and De Michael's Market for a quick bite to eat and our Front Desk staff has menus as well as a delivery list ranging from Pizza, American, Mexican and even Kosher options. The next time you are in Chicago please consider The Chicago South Loop Hotel your home away from home. Enjoy the rest of your day! Camille R. Guest Experience Manager

Great spacious rooms

I loved my room as it included a sitting area with a coffee table-a little luxury in this area. Free parking and distance to McCormick makes this place a must from now on.

Every was very friendly and helpful.

Pros: We were in town for a game at the Wintrust Arena. This location was very convenient and had free parking.
Location: Other than being close to the Wintrust Arena not much in the area. But close enough to get places by car or Uber.
We were for one night only. we were pleased with the staff and the room. Plenty of room in the room.

Dirty hotel no where near the loop

The hotel is 1/2 a mile from the green line and a full mile to the red line. The hotel was dirty including the "fresh" towels. Good luck on getting the room cleaned daily unless you are up at 9am - the maid service does not return once they have passed your room. The hotel ran out of pillows ... what hotel runs out of pillows? Don't trust the name of the hotel that it is close to the loop. It is NOT near ANYTHING!!!! No food, no convenience stores - nothing close by!! The vending machines were empty of product. Gift shop never opened the 5 days we were there.
