Just north of downtown Dallas, Plano is less a suburb and more a thriving city in its own right—bolstered by a large business community centered around the local operations of many multinational corporations. Most flights to Plano land at Dallas Love Field (DAL) airport, avoiding the more congested—and more distant—Dallas-Fort Worth International. Once you touch down at DAL, you’re only be about 20 miles from downtown and most Plano hotels. This puts you in an ideal location to explore the entire Plano-Dallas metropolitan area.
Transportation from DAL
After your Plano flights land at DAL, you’ll have a few options for getting to your accommodations. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system offers light rail and bus lines that connect the airport to Plano as well as to Dallas to the south.
