I stayed with my family for 1 night. Upon entry to the hotel there were two gentlemen outside smoking marijuana. The check in staff were friendly. Before we could even get to our room we smelled

Property is old and run down. First room we were given had crayon and nail polish all over the tables, end tables, bathroom counters. Rug was old and stained, bathroom door had paint completely peeled off the back. We were moved rooms and the new room was clearly used for prostitution. The guest room had red light bulbs in every lamp, the bathroom smoke detector had tissue stuffed in the slots so whoever was smoking in there wouldn’t set it off, the toilet wasn’t even screwed into the ground so when you sat down it tipped over, master bedroom door had paint peeled off the back, rug had stains, curtain had questionable stains (blood maybe)? It was clear there were people living at this hotel. Two pitbulls were let loose in the pool area for quite some time, cars were revving their engines and racing in the parking lot, people were jumping the fence to hang out in the pool area and smoke pot, people were yelling and screaming in the hallways. That was the last time we’ll ever be staying at a sonesta.

Would not recommend for a family stay. Check in was smooth staff was friendly but there is a sign at the front desk about human trafficking which is alarming. Upon arrival there we cars being worked on in the parking lot and men smoking weed. Wasn’t able to lock the door on the room, it seemed to be jammed and looked like the room was broken into or something before. I was very sketched out since I had a child with me and decided not to stay. Came back the next morning to check out early from what was supposed to be a 3 night stay, was promised a partial refund by a manager but later on turned into a non refundable room. Pictures are deceptive and not as advertised online.

First off, you’ll be coolly welcomed by someone at the front desk after being hit with a huge wall of air fresher-chemical smell. Our room was spacious but they have NO ROOM service. Our room wasn’t cleaned at all in spite of asking several times. Full kitchen is nice. Many breakfast options. Unfortunately when walking through the halls I saw so much mold over all the walls. Absolutely horrible. Management should be informed. Despite being non smoking (aren’t all hotels now)? We woke up to so much weed smoke that somehow wafted into our room late one night. We have two small children, so naturally we were ready to check out.

We have never had any issues in the past, but this time there was a truck with a USDOT # parked by our room for our stay, and appearing to have people sleeping in the vehicle, staying in the vehicle during the day, which made us quite uncomfortable. I brought it up to the lady at the front desk, (Nedda), not sure of spelling, and she was not at all interested in our comfort, not even to move us to a different room. She was argumentative with me instead, like it's my fault that there is a truck/trailer, which incidentally took up 10 spots, parked by our room with people in it sleeping. We had to keep our blinds shut because the few times we looked down at the vehicle, someone was looking right at me. Very weird. Yet, the front desk had virtually zero concern, both for our safety as well as comfort. The cockroach was a minor issue in contrast.

It was ok clean in a safe place but they stick you with a 125 dollar deposit after the room was already paid for - you don’t get the deposit back for a week - for the experience I had I wouldn’t stay here again because of the extra hidden fees not good enough for 125 extra dollars

Properties pool wasn’t working said it was “still green” this should’ve been noted on the site. Toilet was running maintenance came to fix it but started but up running throughout the night . Our room was by a unit outside and the fan was loud annd also ran all night. Lots of dust and dead bugs were by the cups in the kitchen area as if it’s not wiped off by house keeping if they saw that the glasses weren’t used. During breakfast staffed seemed like they were in a rush to get as out the breakfast room 9 waffle batter was a bit watery and we were told it’s nothing they can do because breakfast is almost over

Below Average Experience at Sonesta

Our stay at Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte Arrowood was not the best. Upon arrival, our room smelled very musty, and did the entirety of our stay unless we cranked the AC super low. The bathroom had broken tiles that would move when you walked over them, the bathroom door was water damaged and the soap left near the sink was already used. The dishes in the kitchen area were also not clean, so we had to clean them ourselves before use. We did not have enough towels (were provided two SMALL bath towels), and simply asked for another, but the hotel front desk said there were not any available. I don't think three SMALL towels for two people is much to ask for. The staff was generally rude, short and there were always people hanging around the front area inside and outside. Plug ins in the nightstands were super loose and would hardly hold a plug in. No chair for the desk. Overall just not up to par for the price we paid. We would not stay here again.

There was blood stains on the pillow. No ice bucket in freezer. One knife and one fork in the kitchen. You have to get ice from the front desk. I won’t be back.
