This hospitality property is a little dated and the lighting in the rooms was very dim and inadequate. The beds were comfortable and the towels and sheets were clean. We met a couple there that got an acceptable room on their third try. The other two rooms they were assigned had significant issues. The breakfast was average.

A quiet location on a college campus. Pretty surrounding of trees and walking path. They had many options for the free breakfast, including hot items. Many dining options within a 10-20 minute drive.

nice room,parking...out side of Charleston 15 min drive to main Square in city.. fort Sumter tour very interesting..great food...Hyman's seafood restaurant..stopped for happy hour to have appetizers and drinks..so good we had ample inplace of dinner..raw oyster and fried green tomatoes were outstanding..had doubles of each😋 City buses are free and stop at all main attractions near Liberty Square.

Telephone was not registered and operable until request was made. Small coffee maker was missing a piece and was replaced at our request. Large fans in hallway out side rooms but no explanation. Damp smell. Initial issue with deadbolt until we went to desk since phone was not working. Tiny bar of soap and only one. Not a good overall experience.

Perfect budget option for a Charleston trip
This was a really great hotel. Located about 15 mins from downtown Charleston , this hotel had large rooms, free parking and a really good free breakfast. Downtown hotels can be very expensive , so this hotel provides an excellent alternative for a very reasonable price

My door did not close and lock well, so i had to triple check it every time coming and going. Then on the last night someone tried to get in my room in the middle of the night. I had the inside safety latch engaged so they did not get in. But the door was left ajar. And whoever did it was quiet about it so there was no big noise. No one seemed to terribly concerned at the desk. Other than that the hotel was fine and the breakfast food decent

When we got to our room we noticed a can of furniture polish had been left on the counter. We walked over to the bed and there was a candy wrapper on the floor by the bed so the room obviously wasn't cleaned very well. I went into our bathroom and there was no shower curtain, no bath mat and no soap. I went to the phone to call the front desk but the phone didn't work. My husband had to go back downstairs to get all of the missing items. The next morning I got in the shower and noticed that the tub was not draining and the water was backing up into the tub. The original drain plug was missing and there was a rubber gasket with a bolt through the center being used as a drain plug. A bunch of black gunk started coming up out of the drain. I had to go back down to the front desk to ask them to come fix the tub. I also asked them to send housekeeping to clean all of the black gunk out of the tub. When we went back to the room, neither of our key cards would work, so back down to the front desk we went again. We were told that sometimes the doors don't work. She gave us new card keys that worked. The maintenance person came right away. He took care of the clogged drain and replaced the rubber gasket with a new drain plug. We left for the day and, when we came back that night, we saw that housekeeping had been in the room and brought more towels, but they did not clean the tub as I had asked; the black gunk was still all in the tub. I used a washcloth to scrub it.
