Our stay was disappointing

We booked for a second stay after staying here previously in a different apartment a year ago. This time the apartment was differently configured - a tiny bedroom and bathroom. We were unable to open the draws of the vanity if the door was open, as it opened inwards towards the vanity. The actual sink was too small to put cosmetics on, so our cosmetics were on the floor. The living room furniture showed signs of wear and tear and was cramped. We never received a key despite asking a number of times at the reception - the reception did respond and let us in, but this was not a comfortable arrangement. I wrote to the property manager, he replied that we should have complained (there was nothing that could be done). He promised to get back to us with a possible reduction but I never heard back from him.
