Avoid- valuables stolen out of case by housekeeping
We stayed for 2 nights at Drifter in a private dorm. We noticed after housekeeping entered whilst we were out that a $200 perfume, dollars & a bikini had been stolen out of our open cases. We reported this immediately and was told it would be taken seriously and the manager would contact us in the morning. Whilst we were there another girl asked if we had items stolen as she has had things go missing also. No contact in the morning despite us saying we had to leave by a certain time to collect a hire car. The manager eventually came down and explained that as the housekeeper has worked there 3 months they are trusted and a ‘long shot’ camera in the corridor captured them with nothing in their hands. I think if you stole something you would know about cameras and how you leave the room? Was utterly disappointed and disgusted with how ‘Scott’ dealt with this. He was smarmy & condescending informing they won’t proceed with anything and ‘hopefully it will turn up in our luggage’. So offensive, we turned our cases up and down to find as soon as we realised. I paid $1000 for these 2 nights but price doesn’t matter, it’s the principle of violating our privacy and how this was dealt with. We have followed up with a police report and will be dealing with it this way. Just disgusting
