This two-story cabin showcases country charm with an updated interior well-appointed for contemporary guest comfort.

The full kitchen comes equipped with all the major appliances for handling home-cooking with ease and sit-down meals can be enjoyed at the dining table set for six. Unwind in the living room for evening entertainment on the smart TV. Sip morning coffee on the breezy front porch and fire up the private gas grill for a country style cookout to enjoy at the picnic table in the side yard.

Great potential
Upon arrival, we found the house has not been cleaned. The floors have not been swept or mopped. The carpet has not been vacuumed. The couch has not been cleaned or vacuumed. We found dirty socks, wraps for smoking tobacco (or something else) and a medication bottle along with crumbs and trash under the cushions. The bedding has not been washed. The comforters and sheets have human bodily fluids, hair and dirt on them. The water is horrendous. The smell is sickening. We were very appreciative of having the window air conditioners in each bedroom. Otherwise, no one would be able to stay in this house.

The other review for this property is accurate. The picture of the front of the house has the photographer standing in the middle of the highway. It should be noted that the front porch of this house sits only about 15 ft from the edge of the highway. We had several automobiles pull over in the front for one reason or another. This should be a concern for people with small kids or loose animals. The house has been recently remodeled on the moderate cost side. We had a party of 7 with our family and with 5 bedrooms were able to spread out nicely. Pros: - very close to the NOC, walking distance if you'd like - comfy living room for gathering - workable kitchen - nicely appointed - one nice bathroom, one small bathroom Cons: - VACASA, this is the property management group. After I was hit with the hidden fees, my rate virtually doubled from what was advertised. Please be aware, they have hidden fees for apparently no reason whatsoever other than to up the cost of the rental. They will also bomb you with emails and texts. Communication is important but most of this was unnecessary. The kitchen is poorly, poorly furnished. For a home of ten, there are not ten plates, coffee cups. It needs a few sheet pans, more bowls, plates, coffee cups, pans. utensils… Bring a 6-8 ft extension cord with you. You’ll need this to plug up a fan to blow the smoke out of the kitchen if you cook bacon. The overhead fan for the stove does not work. The small bathroom needs a small table to put thing on and some kind of rack / shelf in the shower to hold soap and shampoo. The bedrooms could use a few more furnishings as well, beside table, chest, chair…. The previous reviewer was correct about the creek, it does drop off about 15 ft and does need a fence of some kind. The ad states a limit of 2 cars at the house. 10 people, their stuff and two cars?? Some gravel in the side yard would do nicely to add some parking area. There was a strong sulfur smell in the water. After we ran it a while it went away for the most part. The first night upon returning from dinner (with all doors and windows closed) found small white gnat like flies covering every light that was on. I sent a message to VACASA, their response was: they would notify their team. Overall, I believe the owner has a nice place. We’re not all on a mission to tear up your home, give us some utensils and workable furnishings. Regarding VACASA, check their reviews ahead of time.

Nice property but lacking
We booked this property just two weeks before our trip. Our party was a total of 10 people ranging in age from 1 to 50 years old. The home was spacious enough for us all but the listing was inaccurate. First of all the listing states it is is a 4 bedroom but it is actually 5. Which was a nice surprise. However, it listed two rooms as having queen beds. That is not accurate, they are all full size. The home does not have air conditioning which we knew and accepted when booking. However, we thought the owner would provide suitable fans. The downstairs was manageable with ceiling fans but the upstairs only had desktop fans which were not powerful enough to provide any comfort. Many of the windows of the home were painted shut and could not be opened for airflow. The home was recently renovated and carpet was clean. Unfortunately, on the steps and entrances to the bedrooms there were carpet tacks or nail strips sticking up though the carpet. My 4 year old stepped on one walking down the stairs and cut open her foot. Four other people stepped on them as well but thankfully did not cut their feet. The listing advertised a full kitchen but there was very limited kitchen utensils and renters were provided bare minimum. There were no casserole dishes or glassware that could be used in the oven and there were not functional hot pads or mixing bowls. There was not enough dinnerware settings for as many people that can sleep in the home and half our party had to use bowls at dinner time instead of plates. The listing also made it look as though the property sat directly on the creek, it does not. The back of the property is a shear 15 foot rocky drop down to the water. The yard is not level and slopes down towards the drop. There is no fence. It is a major safety hazard to have small children on the property and I did not feel comfortable letting my children run around outside. There are also two yellow jacket nests on the house. My husband was stung twice just walking to the vehicle. With improvements this house could be a great rental and is in a great location. Unfortunately, we would not stay again given its current status.
