Listed as Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast consisted of the usual continental fare (muffins, toast, cold cereal), so went elsewhere for breakfast. Every other Bed and Breakfast establishment I have stayed in serves hot breakfasts, pretty much made to order with fresh local ingredients. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms and furnishings were dreary.

OLD NURSING HOME-Obvious when you go inside.......

Pros: It did have new floors.
Cons: Not a Bed and Breakfast. Sleep room with sparse continental breakfast. Not remodeled. Really just a series of cover up patches and some painting.
Located and booked this so called Bed and Breakfast through Travelocity. Very disappointed with this, especially Travelocity in showing a 3 Star rating. No reference by Travelocity of this being an old nursing home. We knew immediately when we arrived it was either a old nursing home or hospital. Still has rails along hallways and room showed all the signs of where patching has been done to cover up equipment and holes in rooms. Showed remodeled in 2017. This is a joke. Doors had scrapes, wear and tear from where patient walkers, wheel chairs had scraped. Door trim not painted. Every thing was a patch job. The place was spooky. Both my wife and I had parents in nursing home for a few years. It was a sad reminder. The innkeeper said was advertised as such but was not on Travelocity site. We would not have stayed but their was a no cancellation policy. It appeared we were the only guests there. Did not see anyone else or cars. Definitely not 3 Star. Very misleading.......

We are sorry you were disappointed. Your stay with us was at the end of the season here, just days before our seasonal closure, which is why you saw no other guests. Yes, there is still renovations work to do and this will be an ongoing process as funds permit. The star rating is assigned to us by others: it is not a self assessment.

Pros: Price
Cons: Elevator smell - ambiance
Location: Didn't stay long enough nough
This was an example of you get what you pay for - this place was 1/3 of the price of other hotels/motels/etc. and we made a poor choice

Sorry you were disappointed. Our place may have been 1/3 the price of high-end hotels, but certainly not 1/3 the price of any "motel".

Great value in a resort town!

Given the booking price, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! Barb, the host, was so friendly and welcoming and you can tell she takes pride in her place. The whole building in in the middle of a remodel, but the finished spaces are beautiful and functional. Barb is a talented artist and her work decorates the hallways. The rooms themselves are small but comfortable and have the same amenities as the pricier hotel chains. My only complaint would be the ill-fitting mattress covers which bunched up and slid around, but it was a minor annoyance I'm sure would have been fixed if I'd mentioned it. The B&B is easy walking distance from Main Street shops, restaurants and bars and a little over a half hour drive to Acadia. Perfect place for hikers, cyclists, students, and other budget-conscious travelers to stay while exploring the area.
