Horrific

Ten day old rock hard bagels, and teeny, tiny rock consistency mini muffins is what was called breakfast. It smelled like a moldy basement! The pictures are deceiving. ...! BEWARE! !!

Perfect for an overnight stay or two on a budget.

Pros: The price for us was certainly the biggest attraction.
Cons: The hotel is a little dated but during or staying they were currently working on upgrading the rooms and I am sure freshening up the appearance.
Location: Meriweather post pavilion along with a few local favorites, which the staff is more than willing to help you locate.
The wife and I were somewhat concerned after reading many negative reviews in regards to this hotel. We were truly please once we arrived in many of these negative comments were unfounded. This is certainly is not an upscale hotel by any means and may be a little dated but we found it completely acceptable for our 2 night stay in the area, as a matter of fact we are considering taking another trip to this location and we are plan To stay at this hotel. We met several staff members while here and were treated with respect by all.

Only in Dire Emergency

Stranded passengers & hourly clients are clearly the only reason the Microtel BWI is still open.I have stayed at other Microtels & they were fine. Our connecting flight from BWI to Hartford was cancelled due to weather so I went online & booked the hotel while in the airport in NOLA.When we arrived at BWI called the hotel, told pick-up would be in 10 minutes & were directed to the pick-up location.10 minutes later, 2 other people joined us waiting for the van-they were told a 15 minute wait. After 45 minutes outside in 30 degree weather, the 4 of us were picked up after midnight. The van&driver, barely detectable as belonging to Microtel (a small sign taped to the door&a slovenly dressed driver) arrived. The driver, who talked on the phone the entire time she was tossing bags in the van (think Samsonite commercials from the 80's), made the 3 minute ride to the hotel blessedly uneventful. The night manager was pained to check us in.Forms were signed, credit card swiped. We asked about the morning shuttle-he needed our room number-which he hadn't given it to us.SO, once that was done we hastened to our room for a few hours' rest before our morning flight. What was behind door 219?2 passable beds, an odd looking window-seat-bed, a huge old-school TV, mirror-lined wall, and a small bathroom. Sheets carefully turned down, no personal belongings permitted to touch surfaces&socks on, we rested & beat feet to BWI for clean restrooms&kinder people.Avoid at all costs!

Unexpected

On arrival, the room they gave us was already used We had to call the front desk that the room was used and has not been cleaned. The next room they gave us had a non working phone. I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk. The clock radio was not working also. Their was soap scum between the bathroom tiles and no soap dish in the bathroom. The hotel needs to be updated. Breakfast spot was too small and we were bumping into each other.

Microtel a shabby experience

I just needed a place to stay for the night after a late flight, so it did fulfill that need. And everything worked. But it was very shabby, furnishings were very low quality, linens had holes, no alarm clock, etc.

Great value for the money; good location

Pros: Price, location, self-service guest laundry, iron and ironing board in room, nice bathroom, lots of hot water, good water pressure in shower,
Cons: Better sound insulation between rooms; cracked bathroom floor tiles, broken hinge on closet door; loose desk lamination
Location: Convenient driving distance to BWI Airport; Arundel Mills Mall and Maryland Live Casino; walking distance to movie theater and several restaurants
Quite a pleasant budget hotel. The room was very intelligently laid out. Lots of wall outlets. My room was a quasi-suite. The living room was divided from sleeping area by a breakfast bar that had a sink. Above the sink and breakfast bar hung several cabinets and a small microwave. A dorm-sized refrigerator was below the breakfast bar. The living room had a comfortable couch and a coffee table. There was also a small table attached to the wall opposite the couch and a straight-backed chair at the table. In addition to the bed, there was a good-sized desk attached to wall opposite the bed. The desk chair had comfortable, supportive cushions. The a/c unit was located below the wide window and a couch-length cushion was on top of the unit making it a comfortable window seat. Two drawers were next to the a/c unit. The room was well-lit with recessed lighting in ceiling and on walls. No lamps but lots of switches allowed customizing which lights were on. Large, strategically placed mirrors made the room seem more spacious. Small coffee maker next to sink was easy to use. Good sized closet for hanging clothes. Two reliable WiFi connections available but I had to switch between them sometimes. I didn't use the flat screen TV that was mounted on the wall above the closet.

Microtel Stay

Pros: Convient to freeway to Baltimore/ Washinton and eateries
Cons: Better Mattress - cooler hallways - add some meat and potatoes for Breakfast
Location: Location is perfect to get to Baltimore/ Washington and Annapolis - jazzy clubs downtown and lots of great seafood
Hotel was okay for the time we spent in the room - hallway was always hot and stuffy - everyday they would spray some kind of citrus spray and that made it worst - there were days they didn't have any face cloths available because they were be laundered - over all I gave this hotel a 4 (pleasing) - staff was friendly - convenient to freeway and eating facilities.

Fine for an airport hotel

Pros: Close to the airport, good shuttle service. Make-up remover wipes included with toiletries
Cons: Make sure the food for breakfast isn't moldy...
I got in really late, and didn't want to have to figure out getting into Washington, so chose to get an airport hotel. Shuttle picked me up promptly when I called and room was totally fine for what I was paying. Clean and tidy, with fridge and microwave in the room. In the morning the shuttle driver took me right to the MARC station for the train into DC, which was really nice. Bad thing: when I picked up a bagel for breakfast in the morning, I discovered it had mold on it... So watch out on the food.

Convenient to BWI Airport

Pros: Convenient to BWI Airport and there is a McDonald's on the way to the airport to stop by before getting on your flight.
Cons: The hotel does serve a continental breakfast but only lasts until 9:30. It would have been better if it lasted until at least checkout time at 11:00.
Location: Convenient to BWI Airport
Convenient to BWI Airport but gets a bit noisy in the morning from the planes taking off.
